Water Leakage Detection
Underground water leakage causes a lot of problem. The biggest being the wastage of this precious substance. So it is best to stop water leakage to save water and other infratructural damage like sinkholes that it cause. Unfortunatelt the traditional ways are very time consuming and the available equipment is quite expensive. We are making a water leakage detection device based on ground peneterating radar which will use radio frequency waves to detect the leakage of water pipes. The device will use antenna to send and receive RF waves and USRP to generate the signal.
Our main objective is to make less expensive equipment that replaces the traditional ways of detecting water leaks underground.
Our implemntation method is Ground Peneterating Radar using software defined radio (USRP-2901)
The main benefit is water saving.
Other benefits that come along are cost reduction and time saving.
FInal Deliverable is a HW/SW integrated system that is based on NI Equipment USRP NI-20901 and LabView. We use the Labview to program the transmitter and receiver and the rest of the hardware which are antennas are used for trasmitting and receiving signals.
