Project Summary

In recent years, a number of Pakistani cars have been stolen from Pakistani roads. Normally, whenever any complainant lodges a complaint about car stealing, the policemen usually watch the CCTV footage to track and monitor the stolen car. This process takes enormous time and human efforts to find the stolen cars manually. Thus, computer vision and deep learning techniques can be employed in such scenarios to expedite the process and at the same time reduce human efforts. In the literature, several researchers have proposed the vehicle identification model to classify different types of vehicles including trucks, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, etc. However, to the best of our knowledge, no one has developed a classification model to classify the specific brand of Pakistani vehicles such as Toyota, Honda, Suzuki, etc. Therefore, in this project, we aim to develop a Pakistani Car Classification Model using computer vision and deep learning techniques. The scope of our project will be to classify the color of the car (such as white, black, silver, etc.) and the brand of the car (such as Toyota, Honda, Suzuki, etc.). In addition, we aim to develop a web-based system for our users. This web-based system will accept the video as an input, process it to classify several brands of cars color-wise, and store the timestamp and directions of the cars in a database. Several types of heat-maps, reports can be generated from the processed data using the interactive dashboard. We believe that this system will help the law enforcement agencies and bring positive change in finding the stolen car swiftly compared to the traditional manual system.

Project Objectives

After completing the project, we will have a complete end to end web-based system for the classification of Pakistani stolen cars. The system will be user-friendly, and people can easily interact with the system to detect and track the car in no time. The proposed system will be having the functionality of different subscription packages, video analytic and multiple visualizations of the data. The proposed system will generate automated reports for the specific car to find direction and other attributes. It also gives the functionality of storing the previous records and sharing the results with others. Furthermore, it will also give the information of the direction of the tracked car to help the user to watch out the specific camera to reach out that location.

Project Implementation Method

Following will be the techologies we will use in order to develop the proposed system.

MERN stands for MongoDB, Express, React, Node, after the four key technologies that make up the stack:

• MongoDB - document database

• Express(.js) - Node.js web framework

• React(.js) - a client-side JavaScript framework

• Node(.js) - the premier JavaScript web server

Express and Node make up the middle (application) tier. Express.js is a server-side web framework and Node.js is the popular and powerful JavaScript server platform. Regardless of which variant you choose, MERN is the ideal approach to working with JavaScript and JSON.

Benefits of the Project

The goal of the project is to make an interactive dynamic web application. The web application will assist the law enforcement agencies and users in detecting and tracking the car intelligently as existing platforms also provide a lot of good services. We will also adapt some of the good services from the existing platforms as the automated reports and data collection strategies from the video[4]. The users will be able to buy different subscription packages, video storage, sharing and trajectory guide for the stolen cars.The novelty in our platform is that in our system there will be automated report for the specific car, and the highly trained ML model will do all the work[3]. Furthermore, user will analyze even the single car by its model and color, which helps them to classify efficiently. After our platform, there will be no need for any special group of people to analyze the whole video to spend much of their time[4], and people can easily get to know about the whole behaviour and prediction of the stolen car in an efficient way by utilizing the minimum efforts and resources. Our system will serve the community in taking certain measures quickly
