Project Area of Specialization Computer ScienceProject SummaryIn any organization specifically educational institutes, it is necessary to maintain the attendance in a way that it should be real-time, non-manipulated and unbiased. The working team is building a system for automatic attendance, which will identify the true identity of a student and mark his/her attendance with their id number and corresponding time/date. The idea is to propose a system for educational sector like SZABIST where to maintain the students’ attendance in timely means. On the other hand, it is a problem for teachers to mark attendance in unbiased manner when class’ size is large. This system is supposed to work in 2 steps. Firstly, it will identify the student’s face. Secondly, it will process the image and compare it with the database to check if the student belongs to that same class or not. If does, mark the attendance to the teacher’s portal
Project ObjectivesOBJECTIVE:
- To design a real-time attendance system by using a face scanner.
- To avoid the inconvenience in marking the exact time and manipulation in attendance.
- To upload the attendance automatically on teachers’ portal.
The project will consist of a software component integrated with a camera which will be mounted outside every room, and also can be used in offices and other educational premises. Furthermore, the project will be kept easy to use all the users. The framework will be design in such a way that a technical along with non-technical person would have a evident perception about how to use the application.
Initially, one will collect data from application, which are already functional in the real world. And analysis the collected data for the purpose of designing and implementing the system (Student Attendance System Via Face Scan) in University. The Algorithm will work as it will match the taken picture of the student with the pictures, which are already given in the Database. Once the Face is identified the arrival time would be eventually mark.
