Project Summary:

The system of education holds a vital responsibility of providing formal education and its related facilities to all of the people affiliated with it, in this very aspect the educational system of Pakistan suffers through a silent yet the major problem of communication and coordination among the students and the officials within a single institution. This problem results in the lack of uniformity, inadequate policy implementation, and poor supervisory standards thus, degrading the educational system of Pakistan. In order to cater to one such problem our project “Student Request Tracker” comes into play.

This project is a helping hand for the Program Manager (PM) and HODs in everyday management, as it will handle the various queries bought up by the students. The PMs and HODs would have a right to tackle the request either by approving, rejecting, or transferring it. Once the PMs or HODs respond to the request, an automated Email Generation to the student and respective academic department with respect to the response would take place. Until the request is executing the student could view the request progress. A notification of either request Arrival or Response would also be generated. Updation and Creation of Curriculum and Students respectively would also be a part of the project in order to keep the system synchronized with the academics.
 
At this moment, this project would help an individual institution to cater to the utmost requests of the people affiliated with them. Later, it could be used at higher levels like among institutions at provisional and then at national level which would improve the overall educational standards and eliminate the neglected coordination and communication gap between the university and the students.

Project Objectives

Project Objectives:

1. The user would be able to log in, Logout and view his/her profile
2. Admin, HODs, and PMs would be able to create, update and delete a request form.
3. Students would be able to display and search a request form.
4. The student would send his query-related request to the PM.
5. HODs and PMs handle the received request either by approving or rejecting the requestor by transferring it to the consulted user
6. An automated email would be generated to the program manager once a request is placed.
7. A notification related to the request would also be generated.
8. Once a PM responds to the notification, an automated email with desired response would be generated to the student and respective department.
9. Students would be able to track their request progress.
10. Admin would be able to update the curriculum and add new users.

Project Implementation Method

Project Implementation Method:

This project is a Progressive Web Application operating on Web, Android, and IOS which would be developed using Node Js. The technique which we would be adopting for this project is Data Scrapping which will add students’ academic data to our project.

Database:

• MongoDB is used to store information regarding the various types of users of the project

IDE (Integrated Development Environment)

• Visual Studio Code is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is used for the programming services. With the help of this IDE, we can create managed code as well as native code for our project.

Technology:

• NodeJS and ExpressJS are used for the backend development of our project and other backend functionalities.
   

Frontend Development:

• ReactJS is used for designing the frontend and managing the components and their states and components are styled using Material Design which is a design language developed by Google is used for the front end designing of our project.

Project Benefits: 

Our project intends to address a hectic and tedious issue faced by the various Program Managers and HODs (Head of Department) in Educational Institutions that are to execute all student-related queries via Email.

Benefits for Students:

1.  The automated system of getting one-on-one request approval with customized forms would eliminate any request execution delays caused likely due to numerous informal and ambiguous emails.
2. The direct forwarding of the request via email and notification to the officials and the concerned departments would put an end to the day-to-day reminders for a single request execution.

Benefits for Programs Managers and HODs:

1. Reduced workload off the shoulders of the officials due to the well-managed request execution of students via a notification on a single click.
2. The clear and concise request received through the help of customized forms results in efficient handling of the requests.
