We specifically focus on the problem of fake academic credentials. With increasing social pressure to outperform peers in highly competitive job markets, many applicants misrepresent their qualifications to make their curriculum vitae more appealing to employers. An academic credential typically requires considerable investment in terms of time, effort, and funding, and in turn it confers a certain prestige on the bearer and opens new opportunities to them. Fake degrees essentially enable third parties a ‘free ride’ on these benefits. Institutions and employers can solve “Fake educational credentials” problem and promote Lifelong Learn with verified educational credentials anywhere in the world on the blockchain.The blockchain is, in other words, "a machine for creating trust" that potentially eliminates intermediaries in all sorts of exchanges. Main objective of the proposed system is to develop the decentralized educational credentials verification application on the Block chain. Having this solution developed on blockchain will ensure that no one can edit the digital document (Student’s credential) once it has been shared by the institute. It’s like a stamp from the university.

Benefits of the Project

• Integrity and authenticity: Having this solution developed on blockchain will ensure that no one can edit digital document (Student’s credentials) one it has been shared by institute.  It is like stamp from university. The system should serve as a secure and authentic repository which enables verification of credentials. All stakeholders should be able to view and audit the inner workings of this system

• Reduce Paper Works: For an institution, paper works are more than any fields and it is unavoidable also. Trust of creating paperwork is because of data loss from a computer. With the introduction blockchain for academic records, make it easy to store every record in an immutable way.

• Privacy Preservation: The system should maintain privacy in between persons and the organization and will not leak any data regarding students’ credentials or personal information to third parties (such as employers) beyond any information the students may choose to reveal themselves. This includes student identities, grade transcripts, degree status, etc.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Technical details of final deliverable for project are as follows:

• Mobile application including API based on android through which one can scan documents to get verified,Real-time Online Verification Application.
• Web application for admin by using PHP, MYSQL for database and data will be maintained by blockchain technology by using ethereum platform.
