Project Summary

In today’s modern life the major concern of humans regarding technology is that every new product must be efficient and most importantly environmental-friendly. The motivation behind this project is to promote electric vehicles instead of traditional vehicles that operate on conventional sources for example petroleum and gas. The major concerns in electric vehicles are rare charging stations. to overcome this problem, we will try to build a portable charging station for the individual car according to their battery specifications that use a normal AC socket (220V-240V) to charge the battery.

Project Objectives

Sometimes the charging stations are a bit farther down the road than anticipated, which can be bad news for an EV owner and is where the term "range anxiety" came from. If you're driving a vehicle with a traditional internal-combustion engine, roadside assistance can show up with a few gallons of gas and send you on your merry way. Not so with an EV, but now portable charger has stepped up to help electric cars in their time of need with a portable charger.

Project Implementation Method

  • The Portable Electrical Vehicle is a charger which can be carried everywhere, we can carry it in our car with ease and use its access.
  • It will convert electrical energy from the power supply into electrochemical energy to charge the batteries. Once the batteries are charged to a specific percentage we can drive it
  • A rectifier will convert all the AC current from the power supply to DC Current for supplying the Batteries.
  • The charging percentage will be informed to us on the speedometer with the help of a battery management system, it will tell us the battery percentage, and how many miles or kilometer can the car drive at a specific speed of 90 or 100.
  • With the passage of time the battery health will affect, Lithium-ion batteries lose their health after 4 years So, we can also know the state of health with the help of BMS.
  • The Owner of the Electrical Vehicle will have two options either to charge the car at a normal charger or to apply a fast charger where the current flow will increase the bill will increase but, it will consume less time.
  • When applied the charger to the Power supply we can get our billing according to the demands of the supplier, At the specific amount per unit we can get the billing receipt, an in-billing system with the portable EV charger will be available.

Benefits of the Project

By implementing this prototype for electric vehicles, we can create our own startup business to provide the portable charger with electrical Vehicles at small or medium scale all over the country or world because we will have to collaborate with an electric vehicle manufacturing company especially in Pakistan because there are rare charging stations here.

It is a good source of earning by seeking the economic and social job conditions. We can also provide stable, reliable, and sustainable batteries with super-fast charging having high efficiencies at power stations. Using renewable energy has no effect on the environment and no gas emissions from fossil fuels. It is a good replacement for diesel or gas engines that pollutes the environment. The initiative towards the project creates a positive change to a friendly environment and creates jobs in manufacturing, repairing, and installation of projects.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

In this project, our main focus is to promote electrical vehicles by providing a charger for them so that it became more reliable and more in use. We will have a charger for an electric vehicle connected with an electrical switch it will provide a 220 V to 240 V single-phase current to it.

It will receive AC voltage from the switch.220 V to 240 V from the power supply. It will convert electrical energy from the power supply into electrochemical energy to charge the batteries. With the help of a single input power supply.

Depending on the car's capacity and utility it will provide the car limited supply of Amperes, once the power will be delivered the DC battery charger will disconnect.

The Electrical Vehicle will have a portable charger which can be carried everywhere, we can carry it in our car with ease and use its access.

 When applied the charger to the Power supply we can get our billing according to the demands of the supplier, At the specific amount per unit we can get the billing receipt, an in-billing system with the portable EV charger will be available with the help of Arduino a proper built-in function will be available which will show us the amount of bill, etc.

A printer will be available connected to Arduino which will give us the bill at the spot So, that we can easily pay the supplier the amount of voltage consumed per unit the

The Fast charging will charge the car in half the time than normal charging with the help of excessive current and in less time but, the billing will increase whereas, the normal charging will charge it slowly but, if you have time your bill can decrease because of the slow flow of current, and this billing process will be done with the help of Arduino as described above.

The simple charging will charge the car in 2 to 4 hours with 16A flow of current and 11 KW of power utility whereas, the fast charger will charge the car in 4 to 8 hours with 32A flow of current and 22 KW of the power utility
