Project Summary

Many students and working people in Lahore live in hostels and rented apartments. The main problems people living away from home always face are food problems. They are always craving for homemade food. KHANSAMA intend to provide bridge between foodies and Food-Lancers. By surfing through Instagram and Facebook it was observed that there are many Food-Lancers who sell their food using Instagram and Facebook as a platform.

The objective of KHANSAMA is to provide foodies (including local residents and those living in hostels and rented apartments) the perfect mix of traditional homemade cuisines. KHANSAMA not only gives foodies the best choice of meals, but also makes it fast, easy and convenient. Customer’s food delivery is just a few clicks away, while they are relaxing and having fun with friends and family. They can order their favorite meal at their doorstep and enjoy the food. Other than that KHANSAMA’s main aim is to provide platform to such people including women who don’t have proper established restaurants (Food-Lancers).

Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to build a Web Based 3rd party solution to facilitate Food-Lancers and Foodies.

  1. To provide a platform where people can order homemade food online.
  2. To provide a platform to such Food-Lancers who don’t have established restaurants.
  3. It intends on making food delivery an easy and convenient option for all homemade food lovers.

Project Implementation Method

First of all we have client and customer. Client is the person who needs a platform to sell his/her homemade food. Customer is the person who wants to order food online. Customer can only interact with front end.

            On the main page customer can search food using category and sub-category options. Or he can surf through popular places and popular dishes. If the customer selects a place, he will be redirected to the profile. In profile there will be menu and ratings. From menu customer can select what to eat. After selecting the customer will be redirected towards checkout where he’ll be asked to login/signup. In signup the customer will provide necessary details required for delivery like name, address and contact number. After successfully signing up the customer will proceed to checkout where he will confirm his details. After confirming order will be placed and sent to selected restaurant.

            Client’s end will contain the following functionalities. “New orders” section to see if there are any new orders. If there are new orders then client will approve the orders and notify both customer and admin. Customer will be notified about time in which order will be delivered. “Previous orders” section to see completed orders. This section will help the client to maintain record. “Edit/Manage Items” to edit or manage the available items or to add new items. When the client will add or edit any item, first it will be approved by the administration then it’ll be updated accordingly.

            Back End will have the following functionalities. All clients list. All orders list. Client manage section. Which will have add, update and delete client. Client’s edit requests.

Delivery System; when client will approve the order and notify the administration, the admin will look up for the rider to deliver. The admin will consider the location of both client and customer and will select the rider accordingly. The rider will be given the details of delivery.
