Project Summary

We are all aware about Cortana, Siri, Google Assistant, and many other virtual assistants who are designed to aim the task of users in windows, android and IOS platform but to our surprise there is no such virtual personal assistant available for Multiple languages. The project aims to develop a personal assistant that can also understand Urdu language. JARVIS (Just A Rather Very Intelligent System) draws its inspiration from virtual assistants like Cortana for Windows, and Siri for iOS. It has been designed to provide a user-friendly interface for carrying out a variety of tasks by employing certain well-defined commands. Users can interact with the assistant either through voice commands or using keyboard input. As a personal assistant, Jarvis assists the end-user with day-to-day activities like general human conversation, searching queries, searching for videos, retrieving images, live weather conditions reminding the user about the scheduled events and tasks. The user statements/commands are analyzed with the help of machine learning to give an optimal solution.

Project Objectives

J.A.R.V.I.S was developed as a humanoid application that confirms the necessity of language rework that sends messages and use build-in application by processing the commands given by user to the system in multiple languages. This system has some basic features and most importantly mailing and secondly calendar, where user has the privilege to mail and able to create their required event by providing voice commands.

Project Implementation Method

Speech recognition is used to convert the speech input to text. This text is then fed to the central processor which determines the nature of the command and calls the relevant script for execution. Background noise can easily throw a speech recognition device off track, because it does not inherently have the ability to distinguish the ambient sounds it hears, from your voice. Engineers have to program that ability into the device, they conduct data collection of these ambient sounds and tell the device to filter them out. Each command works related to its backend working. For example, if a user gives a command ‘what is my IP address’ it will simply go to the system calls methods and shows it to the user.

Benefits of the Project

JARVIS system's benefits are its features like Urdu language support. It means that the system is able to understand two languages with the help of this feature the users can talk with their personal computers. Some other features like dictation mode, with the help of this feature JARVIS can write in Urdu and English language with just voice commands.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Voice assistants are useful in many fields such as education, daily life application, home appliances etc. and voice assistant is also useful for the illiterate people they can get any information just by saying to the assistant, luxury is available for people, thanks to JARVIS (Personal Assistant).

Many companies of voice assistant trying to improve interaction and more features to the next level and many of the youth started using voice assistant in daily life and from many sources the result showing very good feedback.
