IoT Based Smart Vehicle Monitoring System
SUMMARY:
We are designing a device for cars which is like a Black box, in which we are going to incorporate features like surveillance system and car automation in one module. This can contribute to construct safer vehicles, improving the treatment for crash victims, helping insurance companies with their vehicle crash investigation, and enhancing road status in order to decrease the death rate.
This system is committed mainly to three approaches. The first one is how to detect and record data from the vehicle. The second is how to present the data recorded to the user in simplified way. The third approach is to automate the car.
To implement the first approach some major components and different sensors are used like temperature sensor, door sensor, collision sensor, and ultrasonic sensor to detect and
prevent from accidents. The second approach is implemented through a Visual Basic LCD and CLOUD. The third one is to connect our smartphone through an Application which is going to be connected by Wi-Fi in which we also include a live camera recording and locate a location on map through GPS, more features like ignition off/on,
indicators, wipers, headlights and so many in one system.
OBJECTIVES:
? To design and implement efficient monitoring system that is capable to track the vehicle through GPS as well as record and upload videos and audios on cloud with internet connection.
? To detect and prevent from accident through different sensors like temperature, ultrasonic, collision, and door sensors.
? To automate the car with android application .This android application will perform various task such as turn ON/OFF the indicator, headlights, ignition, move wipers, OPEN/CLOSE the doors.
? To display all the recorded and real time data by using LCD and CLOUD.
The Raspberry Pi 3 is the main component and along with that, all the components are connected with it. Components like relay, soundcard, microphones, camera SD-card,
sensors and GPS module.
Firstly the GPS is connected with Raspberry Pi which is used to get the car location. Now then the next thing which is connected is Relay module that is also connected to
Raspberry Pi to control the ignitions, wipers, indicators, AC and other automation. After that TWO Webcams are connected with Raspberry Pi to record the video .Then
there is this soundcard which is also connected to Raspberry Pi and with that microphones are connected to record the audio. After that sensors are also connected on protoboard with raspberry pi. Along with all these component the main power source which been used are 2 pairs of battery that is connected to a buck along with BMS (Battery Management System) which is used to control the voltage and provide accurate power to Raspberry Pi.

CAR AUTOMATION:
In this feature, we connect Black Box with an android application to perform automation and
provide keyless environment. We are doing this by using relay.
? To turn on ignition with android application by tapping just one button
? To track car through android application if the car stolen by thief you can easily track
your car and find on map through this application.
? To view the current status of car, what is happening in the car and you can also switch
the cameras by tapping one button in android application.
? To record and upload videos and audios on cloud with internet connection. Because of
this feature you can remotely login to your android application and view the recorded
videos and audios anywhere at any time.
DETECTION BY SENSORS:
? Temperature Sensor: To measure temperature or heat of the operating machine part
(i.e. engine).
? Ultrasonic Sensor: To measure the distance to the target by measuring the time
between the emission and reception. ? Collision Sensor: To detect the impact of unexpected object through vibrations.
? Door Sensor: To ensure whether the door is properly closed or not.
DISPLAY:
? LCD: To display all the data collected by the sensors.
? CLOUD: To record and monitor live streaming and other parameters.
