Problem Statement:
Blind peoples feel very difficulty in traveling from one place to another as they face many hurdles. We often hear the news that blind people are lost and their relatives are searching for them, and the main problem is their health we don’t know whether they are good enough or not.
We are going to make IoT Based Health monitoring stick for special and blind people it will include the following functionalities.
1. Wi-Fi functionality to show heartbeat and location online in an app.
2. Beeps when a person faces any hurdle
3. Show real-time location in an app
4. Show heart rate in an app
Our project will enable blind persons to travel easily here and there without any hesitation. The location of the blind person will be determined and the heartbeat of the blind person will be monitored easily by an app which is installed on the mobile of his relatives.
In modern technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT) is one which can help blind people to understand whether they are facing any hurdle e.g wall, tree, or some vehicle, and also to determine their location through an app and also their heartbeat whether they are well or not.
In this project, we demonstrate how to design and develop a complete IOT-based system for location, and heart rate and to make a fully functional device that will tell and indicate to blind persons each hurdle they may face. This IoT solution collects data from our stick which a blind person is holding and it to an app.
Based on these parameters it will report the health status and location of the blind person and tell the concerned family member if they need any help or not.
1. We will develop an app for receiving data e.g. Real-time location and heart rate online from anywhere.
2. We will install an ultrasonic distance sensor Ultrasonic sensors can measure the distance to a wide range of objects regardless of shape, color, or surface texture. They are also able to measure an approaching or receding object. It will then produce a sound that will alarm the blind person.
3. We will then install NodeMCU which will enable the Wi-Fi feature and send data to our app through the internet.
4. Dfrobot heart rate sensor will be used, This heart rate monitor sensor is a pulse sensor that is developed based on PPG techniques. This is a simple and low-cost optical technique that can be used to detect blood volume changes in the microvascular bed of tissues. You can wrap it on your finger, wrist, earlobe, or other areas where it has contact with your skin.
5. For tracking the location of the user we will use NEO-6M GPS. The NEO-6M GPS module is a well-performing complete GPS receiver with a built-in 25 x 25 x 4mm ceramic antenna, which provides a strong satellite search capability.
