Project Summary

Many diseases, disorder or syndromes occur due to unknown reasons, to find these unknown reasons we should deliberate radiofrequency electromagnetic field this time. For this purpose to identify the ranges of radiofrequency electromagnetic field (RF-EMF) and their potential effects caused by RF-EMF on employees. To follow the objectives, the study was conducted; a) To investigate the permissible level of existing routers (RF-EMF) b) To investigate the health impacts on employees. Methodology defines the study area of research was higher education institute (BUITEMS; Sir Syed block). In order to measure the RF-EMF for wireless connection the instrument used was EMF meter (Acoustimeter AM 10 RF-Meter). The routers were investigated if they were emitting permissible (0.02-0.5) or non-permissible range (0.7-6) by EMF meter. On the basis of ranges, two groups of participants were formed; controlled group (permissible) and exposed group (non-permissible). Self-reported questionnaire was also constructed to investigate the impacts of RF-EMF on exposed group and control group participants. Result, shows as, out of 32 location, 4 locations had low range, 12 locations had medium range while 8 locations had administered high frequency range. Findings showed only 12% locations had permissible level of RF-EMF ranges of routers existed in Sir Syed block. Total 30 participants participated in the current study.to observe the variables among which physiological effects (exposed group = 83% while control 23% control) psychological effects (exposed group = 79% while control group = 21%) social effects exposed group = 61% control group =39%) behavioral effects = (exposed group = 69% while control group = 31%). The researcher discusses an overview of the main issues concerning the adverse effects of RF-EMF by Wi-Fi devices on employees of BUITEMS. The four main variables; Physiological, behavioral, social and psychological (mental) wellbeing of employees to cheek whether the Wi-Fi has a potential for harmful effects on employees or not. The conclusions drawn from the research highlights that the RF-EMF by Wi-Fi has harmful effects, on employees of Higher Education of Institute of (BUITEMS; Sir Syed block). There are some research limitations also present are time constraints , ,confounding factors and limited resources etc.The paper suggests that an understanding of the above factors help in improving employee’s health in higher education of institute (BUITEMS), by safe usage of EMF-RF (Wi-Fi) devices according to their recommendation.

Project Objectives

Objective:
For this purpose, the study was conducted; a) To investigate the permissible level of existing routers (RF-EMF) b) To investigate the health impacts on employees.

Project Implementation Method

Methodology:
The study area of research was higher education institute (BUITEMS; Sir Syed block). In order to measure the RF-EMF for wireless connection the instrument used was EMF meter (Acoustimeter AM 10 RF-Meter).
The routers were investigated if they were omitting permissible (0.02-0.5) or non-permissible range (0.7-6) by EMF meter. On the basis of ranges, two groups of participants were formed; controlled group (permissible) and exposed group (non-permissible).
Self-reported questionnaire was also constructed to investigate the impacts of RF-EMF on exposed group and control group participants.

Benefits of the Project

The paper suggests that an understanding of the above factors help in improving employee’s health in higher education of institute (BUITEMS), by safe usage of RF-EMF (Wi-Fi) devices according to their recommendation.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Methodology:

The study area of research was higher education institute (BUITEMS; Sir Syed block). In order to measure the RF-EMF for wireless connection the instrument used was EMF meter (Acoustimeter AM 10 RF-Meter).Measures electromagnetic radiations from mobile phones, Wi-Fi, base stations, most TV towers etc. It is extra sensitive: measures from 0.01 to 6.0 V/m. Wide frequency range: 200 MHz to 8 GHz.

Results:

Results show as standard set for frequency ranges by EMF meter were: low = 0.02-0.07 V/m, medium = 0.1-0.7 V/m, high=1-6 V/m. Total of 32 locations were investigated. Out of 32 location, 4 locations had low range, 12 locations had medium range while 8 locations had administered high frequency range. Findings showed only 12% locations had permissible level of RF-EMF ranges of routers existed in Sir Syed block.Total 30 participants participated in the current study. Two groups were formed based on RF-EMF that is control group (0.02-0.5) and exposed group (0.7-6). 15 participants participated from control group and 15 participated from exposed group to observe the variables among which physiological effects (exposed group = 83% while control 23% control) psychological effects (exposed group = 79% while control group = 21%) social effects exposed group = 61% control group =39%) behavioral effects = (exposed group = 69% while control group = 31%). However, adverse health effects were found in exposed group as compared to control group.
