In the last few years, with the advancement in technology, drone based solutions are introduced in many disciplines. The timely communication will help the rescue team to plan the rescue operations and to handle the situation in an effectively. The drone will be connected with a main server, which use deep learning algorithms (CNN/RNN) to identify the nature of disaster, human casualties and current status of the disaster.The server will identify and localize the objects of interest( human, fire, damaged nature, damaged infrastructure) in realtime to help the rescue team to have pre-knowledge of what exactly is the situation at the site of crisis and what are the actions they should perform for better outcomes and further safety .
Project ObjectivesThe fundamental goal of our project is to build a modern integrated rescue system incorporating drones, which would cover the complete process of entering and handling of rescue interventions. The main objective is to interconnect the drone technology with the current rescue components, including police, fire fighters and the health emergency services. This drone based centralized rescue solution will make an interventions more efficient, facilitate communication between dispatchers and crews, and dramatically reduce the event assessment time, to facilitate crew in planning the rescue operation.
Project Implementation Method
Our basic methodology for implementing the project Is as follows:
1.Gathering of Datasets of our objects of interest(fire, human, damaged nature, damaged infrastructure) and labelling them.
2. Training of neural network for realtime detection and localization of the objects of interest.
3. Making our own drone with GPS functionality installed in it to make it bein able to go to the site of crisis and take the examination of that area and send live feed to the server at the backend.
4. Integrating both the server and drone effectively.
Benefits of the ProjectNatural and man-made disasters cause serious disruption to a community, and there are many casualties, financial, environmental, social, and economic losses, which are beyond the power of the community. As emergencies and disasters, along with their destructive effects, are rising all over the world acquiring knowledge and its uses are regarded as the most effective way to prevent disasters or reduce its effects with the advancement in technology.
The proposed project will help the current rescue and emergency departments to utilize the state of the art technology to handle the rescue operations. The effective handling of rescue operation will help to reduce the loss in terms of human life, economical and infrastructural.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableFollowing are the technical details of our final deliverable:
1.Customized drone with GPS functionality installed in it and its live communication with the server.
2. Datasets of all the classes of interest will be labelled and will be trained in neural network code.
3. Server will be able to get the video from the drone and process in enough frames/sec speed that is the least required for live detection.
4. Server will be able to detect and localize the objects of interest from the site of crisis with the trained model installed in it.
