Painting chemicals can be a danger to human painters such as the eye and respiratory system problems. Also the nature of the painting method which requires repeated work and raising of hands, it becomes boring, Spend time and effort. When construction workers and machines are properly integrated into building work, The whole construction process can be better managed and human labor and time are saved. In addition, it will provide an opportunity to reduce or eliminate human exposure to difficult and effective hazards The environment, which will solve most of the problems associated with safety when many activities take place At the same time. These factors encourage the development of a customized pattern wall painting robot. Before our proposed solution, As many projects are already there in market such as Ross, Zeescape vsp 1000 etc.These printers are used for wall painting purpose but they have defect like not to paint whole wall and used digital paints for making patterns and designs on wall and their inks was very expensive. But our project is to design, develop and implement customized pattern and adjustable wall painting machine which helps in getting low cost painting equipment and safety. In our project we use cutter plotter with infinite Y axis to create custom stencil. To reduce the wastage of paint we are going to use the spray gun and to create accurate designs use magnet molds and make the robot portable and less expensive.
Project ObjectivesThe actual targets for development/business need/opportunity/objectives of the customized pattern wall painting Robot, in order to solve the aforementioned situation, were set as follows:
- To make machine structure simple to enable easy mounting as well as for safety.
- To perform only painting in a single color.
- To be usable only on external walls of structures but also in various other places such as on walls of civil structure.
- To avoid hazard effect of paint on human body.
- The Customized Pattern Wall Painting Robot was to Be designed with the vision to facilitate easy.
- Being a Prototype design, the painting section is limited in height.
- Accurate and Smooth Painting.
Our proposed solution state that we are going to designed a customize pattern and wall painting robot which is light weight and protable it was easily controlled by the mobile using bluethoot. it automatically move along the wall and paint it. it can avoid the obsticals and designed to paint only the walls or to create custom patterns.it was attached with the cutter plotter for stencil cutting using the A4 paper to create custom patterns. To reduce the wastage of paint it uses the spray gun.
The Arduino is connected to the 12V battery but it requires 5V supply, hence voltage regulator is used to convert 12V to 5V. When supply is given it displays “PATTERN WALL PAINTING ROBOT” on LCD. After LCD initialization “MOVING DISTANCE? is displayed in the LCD then we are going to set the distance of wall as input in control unit of the robot with Keypad interface.
After that it display 2 options on LCD “1) SIMPLE WALL PAINTING” or “2) PATTERN PAINTING”. If option 1 is selected. The Arduino in it is used to control the total six DC motor including for the moment of spray gun fitted on the sliding belt. Initially the robot starts from right side of wall and then up down by Crane Wheel Mechanism. Then we load the sprayer fill with paint and activate robot from right side, So the sprayer section moves to left till distance reached and after a unit up movement and robot move to right and the process repeats. The distance moved by robot is measured using IR sensor connected on the Wheel of the Robot. And if the option 2 is selected then for creating the patterns on wall the stencils will be created by cutter plotter which is designed under the PCV frame base. The cutting plotter knives cut into a piece of material (paper, Mylar, cardboard or vinyl) that is lying on the flat surface area of the plotter. It is achieved because the cutting plotter is connected to a computer, which is equipped with specialized cutting design or drawing computer software programs. Those computer software programs are responsible for sending the necessary cutting dimensions or designs in order to command the cutting knife to produce the correct project cutting needs. So, we can give input image of our customized stencil by connecting mobile or laptop through USB cable or Bluetooth to the cutter plotter then the cutter plotter will cut the stencil on the hard cardboard paper. Place the stencil in the PVC mold which is designed to hold the stencil in one place. The mold will be attached in front of the spray gun through the strong magnets then the spray gun will start moving up and down by Crane Wheel Mechanism and similarly paint the whole wall through the stencil in front of it as describe above, so this will give a beautiful and accurate patterns on the wall in seconds.
Benefits of the ProjectOur project can be used in many small and big places like houses, offices and even at construction sites. People can also get benefit from it by renting it. It can also be used for removing the existing paint from wall by using chemicals.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableDeliverables included:
- It will be light weight and portable.
- It uses less color quantity.
- It will provide user a customize pattern designing by using stencils.
- It will be less expensive as compared to the existing products but provide the same. accurate output like them.
- It will also use in removing the paint from wall by chemicals.
- It will automatically move left right in order paint the whole wall.
- It will have a stencil holder mold that we are going to attached at front of spray gun.
- Respond according to user input.
- Move autonomously along wall.
- Paint the wall to a maximum of 1.25m and length according to user input.
- Paint only one color at a time.
- Use the lens sensor to detect obstacles.
- It may be possible to determine if the system has reached the desired height and length.
