Automatic Human Following Trolley
Nowadays in Metro cities, People face a lot of problem in supermarkets to buy things using trolleys. Every time we need to push the trolley to bring the trolley to the place where the object required by us is present. Imagine that there is a trolley that will follow us continuously wherever we go to the malls and grocery stores and carry the things we buy. Through this project, we are going to build an Autonomous trolley that will follow the particular human using Image Processing.
We will need a Raspberry Pi 3 board for interfacing the microcontroller with IR Sensors, DC Motors, and a Camera. Whenever a human takes a trolley, the trolley will take pictures using the camera attached to it. Now through the Image processing technique, the microcontroller will continuously compare the live image of the human image with the previously taken image through the camera. We will program the microcontroller in such a way that whenever the human moves the trolley also moves. This can be done by interfacing the microcontroller with DC motors.
The final deliverance will be in the form of the Hardware of the Trolley. The camera attached to the trolley recognizes the person. IR sensors detects the hurdles in the path. The microcontroller or interface card controls the direction of the trolley by utilizing the information from the sensors and the camera. DC motor is used to displace the trolley from one place to another.
