Atmospheric Water Generator
Clean drinking water is getting scarce day by day. It is important that we take immediate measures to conserve it. This project aims towards designing a clean water production unit. The unit condenses humid air, collects water and makes the water drinkable.
Atmospheric water generators are units that are designed to condense the humid air and make water from it by controlling the dew point. Controller is used to maintain the dew point around the device. As the dew point is reached the water present in humid air starts to condense.
These water droplets are then collected into the water storing tank. Through water filter this water is filtered to remove bacteria and germs.
The system is based on thermo-electric cooling method. The system consists of peltier device, heat sinks, DC fans and sensors. Two heat sinks are attached to peltier device, one on the hot side and one on the cold side. A fan is connected to hot side for its cooling and maximize device performance, A fan is placed for cold side for maintaining dew point. As the current is passed through the peltier device the one side gets hot and other gets cold. On the cold side, dew point temperature is maintained through P.I.D. controller by the help of different sensors. Humidity and temperature sensors get the readings from environemnt and give them to controller. Controller automatically maintains the dew point. When the dew point is reached on the cold side, air starts condensing and water vapors are formed. These water vapors are then collected in the water tank and water purifier is placed for if any bacteria exist. In this way whole process is carried out.
