Project Summary

An IOT based project in which different APIs & tools will be merged together to create a mirror straight out of a sci-fi movie. This futuristic mirror will contribute in saving time for the users & helping them staying updates about special events & information while just performing their daily routines. With the help of raspberry pi the system will be able to take information from the internet & display it on places located on the mirror. The developed mirror will include date & time information, weather information, daily news information, current events & holiday information & video chromecasting.

Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to make a mirror which does the smart things like it shows weather, date and time, news, video chromecasting, reading mails, listening music etc. All these smart features are to be done using raspberry pi. Due to use of smart mirror time can be saved.
 

Project Implementation Method

With smart mirror possibilities of implementation are endless. It can be used at homes to stay updated personally. It can be used in salons for spending some quality time while getting your hair done. It can also be used in shopping malls & shops to advertise or show catalogs.

Benefits of the Project

Smart mirror is an interactive device that can help check different updates while doing daily chores infront of the mirror. It will help save time for the user by multitasking. Different tasks like checking weather updates, listening music, checking news, checking reddit posts, watching videos can be done using this mirror.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The smart mirror will show different widgets on the mirror when user is infront of it. User will be able to see widgets like weather, time & date, news, youtube chromecasting & other updates on different locations of the mirror.
