Project Summary

This project focuses on an automation of poultry farm by using wireless sensor network and mobile communication system. Chicken is the most favorite product in today’s world because it is a nutrient rich food providing high protein, low fat and low cholesterol than other poultries. In this project environmental parameters of a poultry farm such as temperature, humidity, and ammonia gas are monitored and controlled automatically in order to increase the growth of chicken. Water level also controlled and monitored with the help of sensor module. By connecting all the sensor modules to the microcontroller all sensor values are acquired then using wife module it will be uploaded to the web page. The person in-charge of the poultry farm can get the internal environmental situation of poultry farm through PC or mobile phone using internet. This system will control temperature, humidity, ammonia gas and water level with the help of cooling fan, exhaust fan, ventilation window and DC motor without any human interface.

Project Implementation Method

Node MCU has used a microcontroller with a built-in wife module. DHT11 Sensor has been used as a temperature sensor, which can monitor and observe the environmental temperature and send the information to the microcontroller which can send the current data and perform an action according to that. When the temperature goes beyond the threshold value then automatically cooling fan will be ON to control the internal temperature of poultry. The threshold value of temperature is 40.6 degrees to 41.7 degrees Celsius. Once, the temperature is below the threshold value cooling fan will automatically turn OFF. Similarly, Humidity Sensor is used as a humidity sensor. This can monitor and observe the environmental humidity and send the information to the microcontroller which can sense the data and perform an action according to the current value of humidity in a poultry farm.

 When the humidity goes beyond the threshold value then to control that humidity Exhaust fan will automatically be ON. Once, internal humidity of the poultry farm is under control then the fan will automatically turn OFF. MQ6 is used as a gas sensor. There are several gases in the air like CO2, CO, H2S, CH4, NH3, etc.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

In this project we control the environment of poultry farm because it is the major factor for the growth of Chicken Birds. Its help in providing food which did not harm the body and help for the better development of the body and growth also. If there will be low quality of food then the people may suffer from different malnutrition and various another kind of diseases. The food should be clean and fresh so due to which people will be healthy. If we provide good climate condition and good foods to Chicken Birds its helps to increases the number of productions. Provide the good climate condition to prevent deaths in Chicken. Provides technology-based solution to traditional Farm to replace in technology solution to increase in production. This project provides the low-cost solution to the farmer and reduce the number of man power.
