Project Summary

Zero hunger is a mobile-based application that will connect restaurants that want to donate their leftover food and wish to donate with individuals and NGOs who need food. The main goal of this app is to reduce food wastage in society. Zero hunger is a nonprofit mobile-based application that works to serve the community. We believe in giving back to the community. The people are also driven by the mere intention of giving back to the community and making a difference. when the community comes together to make a difference in the community by giving, donating and extending feelings of empathy and gratitude towards each other, The world becomes a better place and this is exactly what drives us and motivates us to keep working hard for the well- being of the people, for making sure that they are safe and fed. 85 percent of food in restaurants and kitchens is been wasted whether directly from the kitchen or from being served. Zero Hunger will provide the platform through which food donations will be done for the needy and taking care of those in need of food. Anyone can be a food donor.

Project Objectives

SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) adopted by the United Nations to ensure that these goals are met by 2030 so that people can live in peace and prosperity is to eliminate food hunger, dubbed ”Zero Hunger.” Countries have taken part and prioritized these objectives in order to achieve them. Our project will mainly focus on the following objectives:

1. Eliminate food waste. This app reduces the amount of food wasted by connecting the food providers and the needy.
2. Interface to register food donors and receivers.
3. Capture below information regarding the food donors: - Type of entity (e.g. Restaurant, food catering organizations, event halls etc.) - Entity Name - Address – License information - Contact information
4. Contact below information regarding the food receivers: -Type of entity (e.g. NGO’s, Orphan houses, Old houses, etc.)- Entity Name - Address - License information- Contact information
5. The application will have a notification feature that will be triggered once the food donor posts food details. The details required will be as follows: - Type of food - Expiry of food - Quantity of food - Preferred pick-up time
6. A pop-up notification will be sent to the food receivers with the details.
7. The food receiver will accept the donation through the application.
8. A confirmation will be sent to the donor.Once the food is picked up and delivered, an acknowledgment will be sent which will close the post.

Project Implementation Method

When the user opens the application, login form will open (User can login as Restaurants or NGOs) both have different forms through which the user can login. Both will have different UI designs. The Restaurant users can login by filling out a specific form and then restaurants can donate leftover food by providing the details of food quality, quantity, and location. On the other hand, NGOs will get the information about the leftover food through which they can accept or reject depending on the need for food. NGOs can also request food. In application, the list of registered NGOs and restaurants is also available.

Benefits of the Project

By using Zero hunger application a lot of people and NGOs that are in need of food will get food through our application. Millions of people don’t have access to healthy or balanced meals while well-off individuals waste food on a daily basis. We actually waste around 36 million tons of food annually, with weddings, parties, and hotels accounting for about 40 percent. To reuse that leftover food zero hunger will help them provide the platform to share their leftover food with just one click to the nearest non-governmental organization (NGO). Not only restaurants can share their food everyone in the country who use zero hunger application can share their food. By doing so, soon Pakistan will overcome the hunger problem.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final deliverable of " Zero Hunger" will be an android based application along with a documentation manual having all the technical details of the application. It will be developed in android studio and flutter.
