Wireless Controllable Smart Display System
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryMany smart display systems have been developed for different purposes but they are either expensive or not suitable for noob kind of users in a particular use.
We have developed a smart display system which is low cost, Windows and android compatible and Wireless controllable from any part of the world, because it has GSM based communication. Our Smart display system is targeted for those users who want to create some low resolution Custom graphics and Small animations which are possible with our Microsoft Visual Studio based custom developed Software. Users can send messages and notifications from any part of the world with our custom developed android app. Moreover this System has multiple sensors plus power management system.
Our Smart Display System Includes Three Major Parts: 1. Hardware

Our Smart Display System Includes two Operating Modes/Systems : 1. Auto Mode 2. Manual Mode > In auto Mode it process the data of sesnors attached with it for example humidity of environment, temprature etc plus it process the data of RTC and all this information shows on its screen which styles can be customized.
Users can send messages and notifications from any part of the world without WI-FI because it works on GSM Communication.
> In Manual Mode it can be connected with Software to process Custom drawings, animations and Graphics made by User in Our Software
Project Objectives Our Project main Objectives are:1. We want to make a low cost and User firendly Commercial Display for all kind of businessmen and Entrepreneurs so that they can commercialize their products and services on their own without help of others.
2. We want to make pakistan's First Smart Commercial Display System which is advance, User friendly and have more features than China's Commercial Display Systems in particular use.
3. We want to make this System without any need of WI-FI because normal businessmen and shopkeepers of small level dont have wifi in their shops thats why our system works on GSM which can be controlled even with a simple Button mobile.
4. Enviroment Monitoring , Sensors Capability and Custom Graphics, Drawings are our important objectives of our System.
Project Implementation Method Our Project Includes three Major Parts of Implementation and are explained one by one: 1. Hardware> Hardware includes many Components and Modules.
> Methods used in our hardware implementation are:
1. Serial to Parallel Interface (Shift Registers to LEDs)
2. Master and Slave Methodogy of Controllers (Three Controllers)
3. Two Data lines and ODD EVEN rows Control which helps in data speed.
4. GSM Based Communcation

1. Commercialization
2. Low Cost
3. Environment Monitoring
4. Custom Drawings and Animations Capability
5. Worldwide Notifications without WI-FI
6. Easy to Use
7. User firendly Software
8. Simple Android App with multiple Functions
9. Reset Hardware From App capability
Technical Details of Final Deliverable- WORKING AND USED TECHNIQUES
Proposed smart display system is very low cost and the reason is that it is developed using low cost hardware components which are easy available in the market. Currently the display system is developed with four thousand six hundred and eight pixels. However this type of system can be developed for large or small size purposes. LEDs are controlled using shift registers 74HC595 serial to parallel shift registers and SPI Fig. 1 technique is used to project the display data on these LEDs. For all controlling purposes we have used the low cost controllers Arduino UNO which are easily available in market under 3$. Total three controllers are working in master and slave modes to control the all processes. Sensors include temperature and humidity sensors. For communication purpose GSM communication method is used.

Fig. 1 SPI Technique with two data lines
In Fig. 1 the SPI technique with two data lines is shown. Data line 1 is carrying the data for LEDs Even ROWS and Data line 2 is carrying data for LEDs Odd ROWS Fig. 2. It can be considered as a SPI technique but with two data lines the speed of data transfer is doubled. Controllers are transferring data in bits with the speed of 4 MHz However it can be configured for up to 16 MHz frequency.
