Wireless Control of Variable Frequency Drive Using RS485 Standard
Background:
•VFDs were only controlled manually that needs a worker to operate
Sufficient:
•By making it wireless, its handling will be easy and hectic free that justifies the cost.
Advantage:
•No maintenance issue, no worker required to operate manually.
Application:
It can be applicable in industries and universities for controlling VFDs through wireless communication.
Objective is to signify the usage of VFDs wirelessly that we intend to achieve through the intervention.
Our Objective is to work SMART:
•Control speed and switching VFDs (Motor) wirelessly
•No need to stand and give commands manually
•Smooth and easy to handle
•Not only one VFD, we can communicate with several number of VFDs through this project
•Initial time duration of designing the project is the only time we need to give. Then it will save out time and labor.
For many years VFDs were operated manually. So that,
•Designed a wireless system that can control speed and switching (ON/OFF) through Arduino.
•Arduino programming is designed according to the VFDs data sheet to understand the nature of VFD.
•Using Max 485 converter for constant supply
•Max 485 converter will give constant 5V supply to the buck converter
•Wireless module (ESP8266) is connected to the Arduino for command input.
•Control speed and switching VFDs (Motor) wirelessly
•No need to stand and give commands manually
•Smooth and easy to handle
•No need to employ worker to control the VFD manually.
•VFD will be controlled smartly.
•Old school way of working will be upgraded.
•Each VFD should have separate worker that increases monthly budget for salaries. This project will save cost because we can communicate with multiple VFDs through this.
•VFD will be protected as nobody can misuse it by handling it wrong.
