Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryDC motor is an electrical machine that converts direct current electrical energy into mechanical energy. A coil of wire with a current running through it generates an electromagnetic field aligned with the center of the coil.The direction and magnitude of the magnetic field produced by the coil can be changed with the direction and magnitude of the current flowing through it. DC motor has different types such as shunt motor, series motor and compound motor. In series motor the torque is very high due to high armature current. But when induced current is passed through rotor winding then losses occur so to overcome this problem we have to design winding less rotor motor. In this project we use permanent magnetic rotor to produce constant magnetic field. In electrical vehicle DC motor draw electrical power from the DC battery hence battery life is short so we use winding less rotor based electric motor to increase the battery life.
Project ObjectivesThe proposed project will reduces the energy losses in DC motor, specifically used in electric vehicle. it will also enhance the efficiency of electric vehicle.
Project Implementation MethodThe proposed project implementation will be done in two phases. Initially the simulation will be done and then the proposed model will be implemented.
Benefits of the ProjectThe line losses occuring in DC motor rotor circuitory will be reduces.
