IOT Based Home Automation
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThis project proposed the design of IOT based Home automation system using raspberry pi (a credit card sized computer having different peripherals) and Wi-Fi module for providing remote control on electrical home appliances, when the owner is away from the home. In this project we are exploring the possibility of controlling appliances just with the click of a button in a webpage using internet. This project is done in such a way we can have the control of our home through a single device which is our mobile. Today technology has developed so much as a result of which human effort is replaced by automated technology and machinery. It’s important to have a
technology which can control over the domestic and commercial applications using iot (internet
of things). People want to heighten their quality of life they want less human effort .Home automation system helps in lowering the human efforts and in improving the quality or standard of life. This project is also very helpful for the disabled and elderly people.
-Android controlled Smart Home Automation should be able to control the home appliances
effectively and efficiently.
- A real life home automation solution which can be implemented at our home.
- Raspberry pi based system includes controlling of home appliances like light, fan, air conditioner,
television, show date, time, dust sensor, room temperature, smoke and motion sensing.
Our stage 1 is to design a model of home.
A show house, also called a model home or display home, is a term for a "display" version of manufactured homes, or houses in a subdivision. They are used on newly built developments to show the living space and features of homes available. We design this model by using acrylic sheet.
Our stage 2 is to design or implement the hardware. It is divided into two parts
- Modules
- Sensors
Using smart home technology with the intent to conserve can lead to energy efficiency, savings, and an overall better quality of life. Additionally, it is also beneficial for safety, convenience, control, comfort and peace of mind.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableAn home automated Model in which the user will be able to controll doors, windows and will be able to know if some one comes at the front door. User will also able to know if there is a fire in the home. User can controll his home appliances anywhere from the world.
