Project Summary

                 Our project is Wind-Solar street light system. An innovative renewable hybrid micro-generation unit, its designed as fully Off-grid and embedded in to a dedicated   LED street lighting system. The key features of this new concept are the arrangement of wind turbine and a photovoltaic panel integrated into the structure. The energy is collected by power conversion equipment along with a storage device which ensures the lighting also during night. Application of this project is the standalone street lighting, but it also off-grid and automatic operation prototype resulting from this project consist of one of the very first wind solar hybrid street –lighting system. The main innovative feature is that the whole operation of street lighting is totally automatic and human less operation because of using dark sensor (LDR) and this system is off-grid using battery as an input source of lighting.   

Project Objectives

• Our objective is that use of renewable energy resources such as wind and solar energy resources.
• Our main objective is that to convert on-grid street lighting system into off-grid LED street light system.
• The operation of street lighting will be totally automatic and human less system.
• These Led Street light only perform operation during absence of sunlight.

Project Implementation Method

                       There are several steps implement to complete the project in which the first and the most necessary step is to design an accurate and perfect frame of Road structure. The wind solar called  hybrid energy resources which is use for generation of electricity and store into a battery source. The battery is use as an input source of street lights. The operation of street light is performed by control circuit and safety circuit is used to protect the whole operation of this project. In this project we use renewable resources in a specific application it is also used in different ways in future.

            Benefits of Wind Solar Street Light System:

1. It can be useful for rural as well as urban areas.
2. It has no fuel running cost.
3. It is totally maintenance free solar and wind  energy can never produce pollution or harm full environment.
4. It can be used for lighting purpose in a small scale application.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

• Renewable resources is better than conventional resources, that it is used in various application.
• It is easily applicable in different areas because of no air pollution.
• It is self  based system and no need of any grid connection.

It is highly efficient and self based operation.
