Project Summary
Tidal energy projects are the most reliable source if electricity generation due their renewable source, long life span. The setup of project is not that costly and the maintenance is also easy. If we start harnessing the ocean energy effectively the foreign importation of fuel can be reduced which will be great for the country's economy.
Project Objectives
The objective if our project is to design and develop an electrical system to harness the energy of ocean. Our target is specifically the tidal energy. A tidal barrage structure along with turbine will be used to concert the energy of tides to electrical energy.
Project Implementation Method
The energy of water will be used to turn the blades of turbine which will convert the mechanical energy to electrical .This energy will be fed into an AC-DC converter using a diode bridge and will also be stored into a battery management system. Then it will be converted to AC again rectification, stepped up using a transformer and then finally fed into the Load.
Benefits of the Project
Tidal energy is a renewable source of energy so generation through it will be eco-frienndly without any emission of harmful greenhouse gases. In pakistan there are a lot of potential sites where we can setup plants and ocean energy can be harnessed so this project can serve as a good model for plants of bigger level.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable
The plan is to make a system that will be able to generate around 200-300W energy and supply it to the load.
