The mortality rate in population of humans is decreasing but people are continuously affected by plethora of diseases. It is imperative to support human health both mentally and physically to maintain independent living.  The continuous monitoring of human, especially the patients, is an important research area in which different bio-sensors are being designed, developed and integrated with the existing daily use devices. The main contribution of this project is to develop real time health monitoring Application. These devices can transmit the data by using wireless technologies. The communally considerable bio-signals related to measure the symptoms are blood pressure, Pulse rate, body temperature and ECG etc., which can be measured by the respective bio-sensors who have the capabilities to recognize them. The majority of existing wearable health monitoring systems requisite a smart phone as data processing and transmission gateway, which will indeed impact the normal daily use of the smart phone. Whilst in this monitoring application, data gathered from the bio sensors will directly transmit to the cloud and then user will be able to monitor his/her ECG, Blood Pressure, Temperature and Pulse Rate through Mobile Application.  

Project Objectives

The motivation behind this project is to come up with a cheap, efficient and reliable solution for the user so they can check their ECG, Temperature, Pulse Rate, and Blood Pressure at their home using the provided equipment integrated with Mobile Application. A solution in the form of a product will be designed, which will continuously monitor the patients and in case of any emergency will explicitly inform the specified attendant. This system aims to develop a technology-independent environment, to capture all the symptoms and accordingly the proposed system will provide the facility to send an alert message to the attendants without limiting to a short transmission range.

  • Reduced errors and waste, using IOT for data collection and workflow automation is an excellent way to cut down on waste (such as unnecessary tests and expensive imaging), reduce system costs and minimize errors.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

In this I'm using three biosensors connected with the patient, these sensors data send to the cloud using a microcontroller and then send into the application. The main objective is to design an IoT enabled Real-Time Health Monitoring Application with two-way communication not only the patient’s data will be sent to the doctor through SMS and email on emergencies, but also the doctor can send required suggestions to the patient or guardians through SMS or Call or Emails. And patient guardian or Doctor/Caretaker can able to track the patient’s location at any point in time through Google Maps which would enable to send medical services in case of an emergency for non-bed ridden patients.
