Project Summary

A platform for users to report crimes to keep the locality posted and aware of criminal neighborhood with system learning all the way through.

A smartphone application is designed and developed for users to post criminal activities with details like locality, severity, time, date, criminals involved etc so that the locals of any criminal neighborhood could at least try to stay safe and government could take charge on solid grounds.

The application also allow its users to instantly share their live location with their trusted contacts in case if they suspect any danger, a shout out for help would also be sent within the radius of 1 kilometre to all the other users and to the nearest registered government representatives.

Project Objectives

The purpose for designing and developing such a project was to control and reduce the increasing rate of criminal activities especially rape and assault.

This portal would help people to communicate with people in context of safety and prevention of victimisation. Marking localities with higher criminal activities would help government to take hard steps on solid ground.

Further this project would lead towards a better trained system that would be able to reasonably detect future crimes and dangerous neighborhoods.

On the other hand, instant sharing of live location with shout out would definitely raise the chances of the victims survival.

Project Implementation Method

A smartphone application is developed to introduce the portal for reporting criminal activities, these activities could only be reported by registered users but they can post these crimes by staying anonymous as well. Users who are not registered can only check for reported crimes on the map.

Registered users could always check on and edit their timeline.

The procedure of instant live location sharing is introduced in a very simple and basic way. User just has to setup the trusted contacts and the application would simply activate prevention services in the background. Now, whenever the user feels unsafe he/she only has to press the volume button rapidly without any pattern until the device vibrates. After the vibration, the device automatically shares the users live location to the trusted contacts and the shout out is sent through the system so that if any other user or a government official is nearby, he/she could come for help.
