Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryWe designed an Vaccine Carrier Box having a box . Our aim was to reduce the minimum temperature and maintained it for a longer period. For this purpose we used peltier’s for cooling. A cooling fan that act as a radiator, to cool the hot side of the peltier. We are using photovoltaic plates which are attached to power that requires load using DC to DC converter. These voltages are further step down according to the inputs of the load. Most important parameters are monitored and displayed on the LCD.
We tested our cooling system by placing 4 cans and 1 insulin pen. We also tested that how much minimum temperature the system could reach. At the end we were able to get on the conclusion that our cooling system is able to reach minimum temperature upto 5°C and by our cooling mechanism it also maintain that temperature.
Therefore, we achieved our desired goal that a cooling system is working properly. We succeeded in our desired aim and proved that how peltier can work as a cooling element. Thermoelectric cooling system can minimize the energy demands and increase energy effectiveness. This productive system can easily be used where electricity is not available.
The design compact and portable and solar driven with reduced cost.
The system could enhance the gaming PCs performance by provide cooling to the processors. In future, this system could be automated and the cooling could be regulated according to desired requirements.
Project ObjectivesThe main objective is to design an Vaccine Carrier Box that will reduce and maintain the temperature below 10°C. So that patient can easily carry the insulin and vaccines in the cooling box without losing potency and harming the patient’s health. Furthermore we can also carry water bottles, tin and other food items along with insulin pen. Thermos Flask Prototype is also designed which will maintain temperature upto 0°C.

- Watt consumption less than 140 Watts.
- Box dimensions could be set acc. to your desires.
- Hot side of Peltier which is being cooled by radiator fans is not more than 25°C, which is not harmful for human life.
- It is made for Vaccines, Insulins but could also be used as a refrigerator.
The Project is designed step by step.
The box is designed on Autocad 3D. Then it is made in hard Form. It is composed of aluminium sheet, urethane foam ,double coating of acrylic sheet. Then the fitting of Peltier, cooling kit with anti Freezing Coolant is used.
The Power supply is used for testing. And during testing, different fans and different coolants were used to maintain the water temperature below 30°C.
Benefits of the ProjectImportance of Peltier coolers is that it offers a wide variety of benefits where standard cooling methods fails and not suitable. Beside this, thermoelectric coolers are environmentally safer than other cooling units in the market. Most important benefits of peltier module contains:

- Life of peltier cooler lasts for decades
- It is compatible with harsh environment conditions and remote areas.
- Wide temperature difference with the ambient temperature.
- Cooling is smoothly controlled by synchronizing the temperature of the cooling box with pic micro controller.

- Box diamensions are 11cm*11cm*30cm.
- Minimum temperature maintained is 5°C.
- Hot side Temperature is not more than 25°C.
- Battery used is 12V 40amps.
- Solar Plates used are of 270Watts.
- 24V Mppt Charge Controller is used.
