The raising demand of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in many countries showed increasing concern to investigate serveral possible routes of converaion of natural gas to LNG. The conversion of natural gas to LNG through stimulation method has always been considered a vital tool to access necessary plant design equipment requirments and pre-feasibility analysis.  Simulation techniques such as process development in HYSYS v12 software are always helpful to study process parameters and optimize production. In this project, process natural gas data from gas fields located in Balochistan provience will be collected. The gas field selected for this project is PPL and OGDCL located in Dera Bugti region of Balochistan. The data will then be simulated in HYSYS software to access conversion into LNG. Among various LNG routes, two process will be simulated and analyzed. The significant process variable will be tested and analyzed. Optimization of the process variables to maximize production. This study provides first time simulation of real plant data to examine and explore production of LNG. The data will be shared with PPL and OGDCL for further process development and analysis.

Project Objectives
  1. To study and examine various routes for the conversion of natural gas to liquefied natural gas.
  2. To simulate two conversion methods in HYSYS simulation.
  3. To study and optimize conversion methods with significant process variables.
Project Implementation Method

This project will be implemented in 10 phases over a time span of 6 months.

Phase#1: Real-time data collection from PPL and OGDCL gas fields located in Balochistan province of Pakistan.
Phase#2: Study of various possible natural gas to LNG routes.
Phase#3: Selection of two LNG routes based on production significance.
Phase#4: Study and selection of significant process variables.
Phase#5: Real-time plant data simulation in two selected LNG routes.
Phase#6: Comparison of results of two LNG routes.
Phase#7: Optimize for production of LNG.
Phase#8: Data sharing with PPL and OGDCL management.
Phase#9: Research paper writeup and publication.
Phase#10: Final year project writeup and submission.

Benefits of the Project
  1. This project aims at investigationg several possible routes to explore the conversion of process natural gas to liquefied natural gas of indigenous resources of Balochistan.
  2.  The project provides significant evaluation of process variable and provides possible beneficial selection among tested through simulation techniques.
  3. The pre-feasibility analysis of the LNG through HYSYS simulation and prospect to ultilize indigenous resources of natural gas for the production of LNG is the need of present days.
