Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThis is basically a class room automation based on IoT. This project will provide live stream of the lecture on YouTube. Attendance of the students will be marked by using facial recognition, movement of the presentation slides with the help of motion gestures. The internet of things is the interconnection through internet of devices embedded in everyday objects, enabling them to send or receive data.
Project ObjectivesOur goal is to create such an application that provides ease to a teacher while delivering a lecture. With the help of this project there will be no time wasted on attendance marking, the lecturer can also control the presentation slides with hand gestures. Due to any reason if a student is unable to come to the university that student can attend the lecture live on the YouTube channel.
Project Implementation Method This project is a hardware as well as software based project. Machine learning, deep learning, and neural networks techniques for the implementation of the project. Modular based development will be used to the development of the project. The software development method that will be used is V-shaped. The V-Model is based on the association of a testing phase for each corresponding development stage. This means that for every single phase in the development cycle, there is a directly associated testing phase. The verification phases that will be used are: Business Requirement Analysis, System Design, Architectural Design, Module Design and Coding Phase. This method is also called verification and validation model. The validation phase includes: Unit Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing and Acceptance Testing. Benefits of the ProjectThe main features or functions of this product are:
- A user friendly portal for students.
- Attendance marking through facial recognition.
- Movement of slides through motion gesture detection.
- Live streaming of the lecture on the portal mentioned above.
There are 3 basic classes of this product: ADMINISTRATOR, STUDENT and TEACHER. First of all, let’s discuss the roles of administrator. The administrator must be able to control the CMS once it is installed in the university. The student class is very simple, the student just has to access the portal on his computer and review his/her attendance and watch the lectures available. Students can do this from their homes as well. Third class of this product is teacher class. Teachers can edit and monitor the attendance, the teacher can move the sideshow with motion gestures detection and it is up to the teacher if he/she wishes that the lecture goes online or not.
