Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryBasically our project is technicaly based upon analogue filter to achieve desirable results. A filter is limited as to which frequencies can be suppresssed. To accomodate different frequencies, it is necessary to use a different filter. So a large chip area is used nto accomodate different operating frequencies. To overcome this problem, a minituarize filter with tunable/reconfigurable frequencies is designed.
Project ObjectivesIn this project, we have designed a compact size microstrip filter with tunable frequency. The design have following three attributes:
- Compact Size
- Out of band rejection
- Cost effective
First of all, filter specification and topology have been finalized. To implement the finalize topolgy, we have designed it on Adnavce design system software by using microstrip transmission line on Roger Duroid substrate. To obtain the efficient results, we have performed full wave EM simulation.
Benefits of the ProjectCurrently, several microwave filter designs contend for use in wireless communications. Among various microstrip filter designs, the reconfigurable planar filter presents more advantages and better prospects for communication applications, being compact in size, light-weight and cost-effective. Tuneable microwave filters can reduce the number of switches between electronic components.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableOur designed topology results comprise of three band having less insertion loss and better return loss. Following are the frequency ranges of three bands:
- 2.7-3.5 GHz
- 4.5- 7.9 GHz
- 9.2-9.5 GHz
- Out of band rejection goes upto 100GHz
After getting the results we have fabricated our design on Roger Duriod Substrate.
