Project Summary

3D printing is a form of additive manufacturing technology where a threedimensional object is created by laying down successive layers of material. As these 3d printers are much expensive and takes large area to be installed, by analyzing these problems we are developing a portable 3D printer which is much less expensive and easy to carry.

Project Objectives

  • Making low cost 3D printer 
  • To print complex and intricate parts
  • To build large printing volumes accurately

Project Implementation Method

Fused deposition modeling (FDM) technology is being used. The FDM technology is clean, simple to use and it is environmentallystable. Complex shapes and intricate parts can be printed. 

Benefits of the Project

  • Able to print complex 3D parts.
  • It will be able to build large printing volumes accurately 
  • Less expensive 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The outcome of this project is to build a portable 3D Printer.It was concluded that among various printing techniques availablefor additive manufacturing like fused deposition modeling, selective lasersintering, stereo lithography etc., fused deposition modeling is the most feasibleand can be easily implemented without much complexity.
