Project Summary

In today's busy life, the trend of going to supermarkets for shopping has been increasing. People pick the items, put them to the trolley and wait for their turn at billing counter but as there are several people waiting in the queue to pay the amount, this procedure takes lots of time because of existing barcode technology. To reduce this time, we have proposed a system based on Smart Touch Screen technology. The products are placed on to the shelves; Servo motors are used to push the products by using the touch screen and then the selected product will reach the customer side through conveyor belt. The total bill of purchased items will be calculated and shown on the LCD.

Project Objectives

A shopping center or complex is where individuals purchase item(s) for their general utilizes. The clients need to hold up in long queues to get their items filtered utilizing a standardized tag scanner and get it charged. To overcome this, we have developed an IOT based Smart and Secure Shopping System. The objectives of this system are

• To make shopping system fully Automated

• Efficient and Reliable

• Real-time monitoring and control of the system

Project Implementation Method

• In this IoT based smart system, smart shelving will be added into this system, equipped with touch screen LCD, mechanical motors will be involved to push the products and can monitor stock, finally, the central server will be updated.

• A microcontroller installation will interface the touchscreen, while the LCD screen will display information about the products.

• As a result, billing will be displayed on the touch screen, preventing customers from waiting in a long queue at the checkout.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The proposed secure smart shopping system utilizes IoT technology, touch screen and Wifi module which is employed in improvising shopping experiences by making it smart and at the same time incorporating security aspects in the system.
