Project Summary

This system will provide a comprehensive solution for the students of Computer Science(CS) department at Abbottabad University of Science and Technology(AUST). The final product of this sysytem will be a website. This system will facilitate the students to submit application online for any academic issues faced by them at the department. The application progress will be tracked and students will be updated all along.

Project Objectives

  • We observed that students of CS department were facing problems of submitting application at the department.
  • While submitting application manually, Students often faces the unavailability of coordinator at the office.
  • This made students to visit the office again and again and wait for the response.
  • So we got the idea to develop such an website that will overcome these problems.

This website will perform or have the following features

  • Registration of students, Faculty members and Admin
  • Submission of application for social and academic issues.
  • Tracking of application status.
  • Comments reply from teachers, coordinator`s, and chairman  to students.
  • Notification of announcements.

Project Implementation Method

We will implement this project by creating a web solution. The end result is a website which will allow students to online  submit and track applications.we will technologies like HTML,CSS,javascript as a front end combination in React Js with css fremwork like bootstrap and reack libarary Material UI for creating UI. while creating backend we will use Node.js which will allow us to create front end and backend both in single javascript languge. We will also use node.js  framworks like xpress.js.  After developing of this website we will host it on a server and make this project functional.

Benefits of the Project

The benefits of this web based pronject are,

  • converstion of paper work to digital database.
  • saving students application record in database.
  • quick and easy  to manage application for sudents and faculity.
  • student is keep updated with the application status.
  • this project will solve 100% problems relating to the application managent of the department.
  • will reduce the work load on coordinator and teachers.
  • save the troble to visit office in rainy days etc.
  • strudent will be able to submit  applications comfortabley sitting from home.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final deliverable will be a website. 

  • Minimum RAM required to run this application is 1GB.
  • Hard disk required to store database min 2GB to 200GB.
  • this website will be able to store and process 50 application at a time.
  • it is fully resposnive and can operate on almost 90% android phones.
  • faster loading speed.
  • eye cacthing design.
  • easy to understand and work with.
