Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject SummaryAssalam O Alikum. Following is the summary of our project:
We are going to build a machine which will be running using 6 motors. The brain of this machine or robot is going be the FPGA. By using the FPGA we will perform the required actions. We will give GPS coordinates to our robot, and it will start to move following a specific path from source to destination. Basically, it will be the shortest path to the destination and for that we are going to implement an algorithm. Then, we are going to train our machine in such a way that it is able to avoid any obstacle during its motion, either its a bumpy road or stairs or even humans. It will be able to recognize them using Image processing. We will be using 6 tyres instead on 4 because, the middle 2 will help the structure while going upstairs or downstairs. We will work not only on the construction of it but also on its stability. We will be tracking the motion of the robot either by using an Android application or a website.
Project ObjectivesOur aim is, not only to complete this project, but also to gain knowledge, practice and experience of the current world scenario and where actually it is moving in the near future, and the filed we have chosen it’s not an easy one, we have lots of fields mixed up together, that we need to study deeply and learn them not only for the completion of this project but also for our learning journey. So, it has now become a challenge for us and we will In Shaa Allah give the best we could.

3. Selecting our FPGA Kit along with the modules and components:
As an initial step we are going to use ATMega328P for achieving the basic functions of our Robot, such that if there are any basic errors to be removed, they will be removed in this step, and then we will use FPGA Kit to implement the same and further remaining implementations.
4. Algorithms:
We researched upon the algorithms, that we are going to implement for the object recognition portion. For this purpose we are going to get the help from Machine Learning as well as Artificial Intelligence combined, as they both work hand in hand.
5. Building the hardware part and stabilizing design of Robot:
Once the hardware will be built, we will see if there are any fixtures to be done in the structure of it and after putting weight upon it, does it maintains its stability while moving or not. If, there is some sort of fixtures to be done, we will also do that. The body of the robot will be printed either by using Laser printing or 3D printing for some of its parts.
We had interest in the robotics field and we wanted to research upon it and to get to know about the current scenario of technology. Object recognition is a field that actually motivated us to discover it and to interact it with the studies that we
have being doing so far. Our objective is not only to complete and achieve our goal but also to learn and at the same time to add or at least give some extra features or fixtures that may be added to this project.
Socially Aware Smart Robot is going to implement and use the algorithm and the methods of our present life. We are going to build this robot in such a way that we will give him coordinates using a GPS Module acting as receiver/transmitter and while moving it will be able to recognize and object/obstacle throughout its path and to perform the required action e.g Be able to climb or descend the stairs and being able to maintain stability while moving.
