Project Summary

In our system the owner presented to detect vehicles and their location. The system provides the owner to control and communicate with the vehicle. Accident detection and anti-theft systems. GPS and GSM/GPRS modules are integrated in vehicle to track their location and send it to the owner phone. When any person excepting the owner attempts to control the vehicle on, the security system will send an alert message to the owner with the vehicle location. The system will lock the vehicle and turn off the power. Accident detection and anti-theft systems are introduced in smart vehicles by using sensors and camera. This design of our system will introduces an efficient system with simple implementation and low cost.

  • This strategy presents an effectual system with unassuming implementation and low cost.

The system that was built to protect cars from theft and contains the minimum steps of work and design as well as the results obtained after the operation of the system. The system was built on the basis of the Raspberry Pi microcontroller, vibration sensor and the GSM unit when the thief tries to steal the car and open one of the doors or the operation of the engine this will produce vibration, the vibration sensor will sense the  resulting vibration and sends a voltage signal to the Raspberry Pi, in this case the Raspberry Pi will stop the engine of the car electrically and through the GSM unit is sending a message to the owner of the car for the purpose of alert from the theft and at the same time is activated alarm whistle. To make the system more reliable and secure the Bluetooth module was used to monitor the status of the car, when the owner of car tries to operate his car will require him to enter the secret code (i.e. specific password) through the keyboard and send command through the smartphone through Bluetooth otherwise the car will not work at all. In case the thief attempts to tamper with the car and enter the secret code for more than two times, the alarm will be activated and the owner will be alerted by the application that is installed in the smartphone.

Project Implementation Method

First of all, we are using “Agile development process”, which has been genially decided by the team after concerning with the supervisor. In Agile, we will be focusing on Scrum Methodology. Usage of agile methodologies can be of multiple reasons, since it’s based on rapid development process where the project is divided into sprints. Each sprint is processed in a fixed time interval where in each sprint whole SDLC (software development life cycle) is followed (i.e. planning, requirement analysis, design, code and testing).  An agile project is tested very frequently after each sprint, which minimizes the risk of failures and there is clarity on future tasks only. Secondly, the project exists on two phases of implementation, one is hardware implementation and the other one is software implementation. The Software ppart is the Android Application that will be made on Visual Studio through Java Application.

Phase # 1:

In this phase, the group members planned the project, through which steps we can move towards the success. This includes all the documentation work was done, including the requirements and the equipment were gathered for the hardware. And then the written prototype was designed for the android application.

Phase # 2:

In this second phase, we reviewed all the documents and proof read it before our final presentation. After that the written prototype was approved by the supervisor, and then we started working on the circuit of the hardware, using Proteus software we designed and implemented the circuit.

Phase # 3:

After the completion of second phase, the configuration of GSM Module and GPS Module was done by programming on it, using C Language and Assembly language, also used the burner to configure the modules. After the configuration, the programming of android application will be done, considering the written prototype approved in phase # 1.

Phase # 4:

After completing all 3 phases before, in this fourth and the final phase, the complete programming of android application will be done in which all the features will be added, which includes, (Track, Lock, Unlock, Mic, Track History, Door Signal, No Go Areas). Once the application will be completed, the android application will be then linked with the hardware and the application will be registered on the Play Store, later on.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The outputs of this project will be transferred to all users that’s uses our system because they will be able to access their vehicle for them self. They can get access to their vehicle condition and location. Fuel and other parts detail are easily accessible by user. In this they have updated about their vehicle.
