The demand for electricity is increasing day by day, which cannot be fulfilled by only non-renewable energy sources in the rural areas especially. Renewable energy sources such as solar & wind are Pollution Free and environmental friendly. We can use the Hybrid Renewable Energy Sources to meet our energy demand.
This Project strives to develop a Smart Town which will play a critical role in bringing off the demand of energy in side areas. HRES (Hybrid Renewable Energy Sources) System will be capable of utilizing the energy from two major sources (Wind & Solar) but when needed more power, it can be connected to Hydro Power (like WAPDA) as well. The details for the HRES is as follows;

Smart Lightening:
With smart lighting, town authorities can keep real-time tracking of lighting to ensure optimized illumination and deliver demand-based lighting in different zones. Smart lighting also helps in daylight harvesting and save energy by dimming out sectors with no occupancies For example, parking lots can be dimmed during work hours and when a car is entering, it will be detected and appropriate sectors can be illuminated, while others can be kept at diffused setting.
Vehicle Identification at Entrance:
Smart Town will has a vehicle identification system at entrance. The system works when a registered vehicle will come in front of entrance, the gate will automatically open. If a non-registered vehicle will be detected, the system will send a message to the administration/control system as an alert. A person manually will go near to the vehicle to confirm the identity and then open the gate from the control system/mobile application connected to the system.
Smart Garden & Sprinkler System:
Smart sprinkler system synced with connected technologies and cloud can be used to water plants and middle path grass with the assurance that plants get the right amount of water. Smart garden device can also perform tasks such as measuring soil moisture and levels of fertilizer, helping the town authorities to save on water bill and keep the grass from overgrowing in a convenient way.
Emergency buttons:
The emergency buttons will be installed on every poles of street light. It can be used in case of any emergency, a message will be received by the control system to take actions.
App Controlled System:
The system will work on principles of automation. But, it would also be controlled with a mobile application. The app will be capable of doing the following things;

Wind and solar energy have being popular ones owing to abundant, ease of availability and convertibility to the electric energy. This work covers realization of a hybrid renewable energy system for a domestic application, which runs under a microcontroller to utilize the solar and wind power. System control relies mainly on microcontroller.
Implementation of Solar-Wind Hybrid Energy System
Hybrid systems are the ones that use more than one energy resources. Integration of systems (wind and solar) has more influence in terms of electric power production. Such systems are called as “hybrid systems”.
Wind turbine first converts the kinetic energy to mechanical energy and then converts it to the electricity. The solar panels in the system convert the day light directly in to electricity.
Smart LED streetlight system is one of the enabling technologies for a smart city, giving low-cost, low power outdoor lighting also with benefits for vehicle users as well as pedestrians.
Despite the importance of power, many live without access to this fundamental resource and there is no single technology that addresses the world's energy needs. Moreover, the need for a future built around a renewable energy ecosystem is well documented. Fortunately, there have been significant technological advancements in the energy space that give promise to fulfilling this need. At the forefront of renewable energy development is solar power and wind power. Again, neither hold the answer on their own but collectively the two compliment one another nicely. The third, and critical element of this equation is energy storage, where again, there have been considerable improvements made in recent years, with significant headroom for future development.
The following narrative demonstrates the benefits of a hybrid energy system where the principal components, solar panels and wind turbines, work in conjunction with energy storage. When combining solar, wind and storage, there are other factors that come into play depending on the blend of local conditions of sun, wind, rain, clouds, etc. When the sun is strong and temperatures are high, wind tends to be weak. Conversely, when wind is strong and skies are cloudy with rain and moisture, sunlight is minimal. Therefore, a combination of wind and solar will likely increase energy production during any cycle.
