Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummarySmart Mirror, which continues it work today and will be very helpful in future technology. Smart Mirror will provide both conventional mirror facility and some information related to the user. It will help the user to see the information about the current temperature, latest news, quotes, to do list and information related to the user. It will also be able to control electrical appliances. User can interact with the mirror through voice commands and mobile application. The Smart Mirror implemented as a personalized digital device equipped with peripherals such as Raspberry PI, microphone, speakers, LED Monitor covered with a sheet of reflective one way mirror. Using speech processing techniques the Smart Mirror therefore interacts with the user through verbal commands, functions and listens to the user’s question and responds them adequately. Pi Camera will take pictures if any intruder is detected by PIR sensor when the Security Mode is on and sends the user alert message.

- To design a device a device that act as an smart mirror
- Able to interact with it using voice commands .
- Able to interact with it using mobile application.

Provide a Security Mode for taking pictures of any intruder detected and informing the user through a message to a mobile application
- Develop the Python Based Gui Application which will be show the weather, news , quotes ,time , date and information related to the user.

- Smart Mirrors are interactive devices that helps you check updates and control your home appliances easily with voice control. You can do things at the same time in the morning like brushing your teeth while catching up on the latest stocks updates , weather or controlling your devices.
- It will also helps you to control your devices through mobile application .
- It will display news feed, date, time and weather to the user in the monitor display
- Security Mode will enable to take pictures of any intruder in the room .
The Smart Mirror is decorated with several widgets. There are two types of widgets one is automatically displayed to the user like date, time and newsfeed etc., by invoking a starting of the Mirror. The Second was triggered as per the command is given to the mirror like switching on/off fan, light etc.The Mirror UI widgets instruct Raspberry Pi to control the requested Services by the user.
The Raspberry Pi is configured to listen to voice commands and performs associated task with it. The Smart Mirror is powered by Raspberry Pi and the output is displayed in monitor to the user. The acrylic sheet was placed on the monitor so that it gets covered completely and displays the complete widgets and, ourselves and can be implemented in the home, work, college and public environments.
We use jasper for giving voice commands to interact with the mirror . There will also be an mobile application that can control home appliances and other features of the smart mirror.
PIR sensor will be used to indicate any intruders in the room when the security mode is on
Pi camera will capture image of a intruder when the security mode is on .
