Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryA system is designed to control the entire rooms and main door. Alarm will be generated when the door is locked and an unauthorized person is at the main door. Alarm will also be generated when there is gas leakage. The system will also check and notify the water level of tank to user. The user will also be able to control the switch of motor.
The system describes the implementation of a Bluetooth technology and an android application with voice prompts-based home-automated system using an Arduino microcontroller. The Arduino controls any connected component and was programmed with C++ programming language by using Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
Another system we have seen that was totally bases on automation. When someone enters lights turns on when he leaves turns off. Relating the old system, we proposed our system that will work through android application using Wi-Fi.
Project Objectives“To design a low-cost smart home system that can be controlled by authenticated person from anywhere using android application”.
Project Implementation MethodFirst of all, we have gathered some information about the system, as there are many projects based on IOT, but we need to do something different except controlling of light, fan etc. using Motion sensor, Gas sensor (MQ5), and ultrasonic sensor for water tank and microcontroller is NOD MCU esp 6682 . We designed a document that covers all the information regarding our project.
Developing android application for user interaction to control the smart home system, from scratch to fully working android application, by using android application, we can control the full access of our smart home system.
Without hardware interaction this project can’t be completed, because we have used different senor for different kind of working, like for smoke detection we have used Mq5 Sensor and so on.
Our smart home is not only a demo of switching the lights on and off on a bread board, we have designed a small home, like a house that contains the Rooms and a Main gate(door).
