Project Area of Specialization Computer ScienceProject SummarySmart glasses alert system is designed in which the system works on driver eye’s closeness using eyeblink sensor, which detect the eyes for 3 seconds (according to driver situation). If the eyes are closed for more than 3 seconds then it generates a beep sound to wake up the driver using Buzzer. If the driver didn’t respond to the beep sound, then the speed of the car reduces slowly, and stop the car automatically uses the motor driver. And when the driver comes back to his normal position then whole functionalities switch to a normal face and the main goal of this system is to save human lives and vehicles from loss.
This system is so less affected in cost that everyone can use, and it's also useful for car rental and driving businesses such as trucks, taxicabs, etc. And with some basic modifications, we can also use it for different purposes like helping disabled, and paralyzed patients in communication.
The system will detect the early symptoms of drowsiness before the driver has fully lost all attentiveness and warn the driver that they are no longer capable of operating the vehicle safely.

Benefits of the ProjectAccidents of vehicles on road are increasing rapidly nowadays.
During the transportation of cargo and heavy materials over long distances (especially during nighttime) through trucks, the effects of inadequate sleep prove to be a major problem for these vehicle drivers involved in continuous driving, leading to fatal accidents. According to a 2014 AAA (American Automobile Associations’) Traffic Safety Foundation Study, it was found that 37 percent of drivers fell asleep during driving. Out of the 21 percent of fatal crashes, 13 percent caused severe injury, all due to a drowsy driver who has to continuously drive for long time periods and at the same time, have an eye on the road.
One study also shows that car accidents around the world are due to drowsiness.

Technical Details of Final DeliverableEyeblink Sensor: This sensor is used to detect the eye's closeness to the driver.
This sensor module consists of the eye blink sensor frame, the IR sensor, and a relay. The vibrator device is connected to the eye blink sensor frame which is to be worn by the driver. This vibrator vibrates whenever an accident occurs or the driver falls asleep. The frame consists of the IR transmitter which transmits the IR rays towards the driver’s eyes and an IR receiver which receives the reflected rays when the eyes are closed. The relay provides the extra current required by this module and hence is also connected with Ardunio Nano but it can also be done through to the SST microcontroller board.
