“Garbage segregation" means dividing Garbage into separate boxes. Garbage includes into different forms. Garbage Segregation is different from Garbage Sorting. In our country, recycling centers or industries do manual process of sorting wastes or garbage. So, it increases human interface. For this we implement a system which minimizes human interference in the waste collecting and segregation process. Materials such as paper, plastic and metals are the wastes that need to be segregated in this project.

Project Objectives

•The objectives of the project are as follows.

•To minimize the waste and ensure reduction in landfill space for final disposal.

•To separately store recyclable material for reuse.

• To ensure that waste which can be processed for recovery of material and energy does not become co-mixed with undesirable elements.

Project Implementation Method

The IR sensor is installed on the top of the system for detecting obstacles and sends signals to the pi board which alerts the camera . In turn the camera is programmed to capture the image of the obstacle, and the image forms the input for object waste(such as paper, metal , plastic etc.) or not. After image identification through image processing, the board is programmed to control the robotic arm movement such that the gripper picks the object and place it in the allocated bin.

Benefits of the Project Technical Details of Final Deliverable

This project will be iniates by a mobile application the robot can be go forward backward and left and right when it finds the garbage on its way pi camera captures the image of the obstacle, and the image forms the input for object waste(such as paper, metal , plastic etc.) and then image processing starts if this object will be found similar to our trained model the robotic hand pick it up and as the board is programmed to control the robotic arm movement such that the gripper picks the object and place it in the allocated bin.
