It is analyzed that people nowadays prefer online shopping more than getting in
to stores and buy stuff, because it is mobile, you can get your desired items at
your doorstep without moving an inch but on the other hand there was a risk in online
shopping that whether the desired item looks good on me or not and lots of people
face this problem and as a consequence of it people exchanges or returns those items.
So in order to eliminate that risk we are offering an application which is an
eccommerce mobile app for watches and rings only. With this application you can not only
buy an item but also can try that respected item on your hand using your camera.
Once you select an item you can place that item on your hand and see how does it look on your hand
and after every satisfaction you can then order that respected item. Furthermore It has all
the features an ecommerce application must have.
It is an augmented reality Ecommerce application in which you can try
rings and watches on your hand before buying it. We have used OpenCV java module
for create 100% accurate hand recognition which helps our users to experience augmented
reality fitting the rings and watches for male/female on their hands. Plus it will have
every other functions an Eccommerce application must have like wishlist, recommended products,
rating products, promotional discounts etc. There will be swiping function if neccassry
which will allow you to swipe next product on your hand.
There was no such application in which you can try an item before buying it using
your camera. As a consequence of it customers faced unsatisfaction after they get the product
they order as they didn't know how will it look on them. We wanted to eliminate this risk of not
trying the item before buying. Through this application customers will be entertained with pack full of
features plus the customers can now try the item sitting in there houeses with there mobile camera.
We will be using Android Studio for developing the mobile applciation and for image processing we will be using OpenCv image processing library(Cpp module) made for android studio. For rendering the object we will be using OpenGL which is a graphics library for android studio mainly used for rendering 3d objects. We will be using Firebase realtime database as our database. Vs code (html/css and Javascript) for our admin panel.
This project will definitely benefit its customers, as it will have all the advanced features an ecommerce application must have like recommendations, wishlist, advanced searching, order tracking, having records and the best of all our customers can try the items to buy at home sitting on there sofas just with their phones camera. This will let out customer to experience online shopping to the fullest. Risk of product exchange for both customers and vendor will be nearly eliminated.
How it will work?- "Simple Eccommerce Application all the way but once you select a product
(watch or a ring) you will press the try button then it will redirect you to the trying screen
which is basically a camera activity. The hand detection is done using the HSV color range
approach using OpenCV for java. Once you get on the item placing activity it will ask you to
ask you to face the phone camera to a background containing no possible skin color at all, once it
will detect that the background is suitable 1) in case of watch : a marker will appear where you will
place your wrist and press place button, the watch will then be augmented on your wrist and it will move along
with your wrist then. 2) in case of ring : a marker will appear where you will
place your finger you want to place you ring on and press place button, the ring will then be augmented on your selected finger
and it will move along your hand then."
