Security Access Control Using Radio Frequency Identification RFID
Our project The RFID door control system is a project which is used as a security system and is dependable and has quick response time. There is immense demand for such type of security systems for entering a facility in the industrial, commercial, and residential and facilities where the entry is regulated. For this purpose we are using the RFID card and the reader which reads the card. There are different types of RFID having different ranges and strength of measuring distances. The prices of these modules also vary and they might range from more than a lack rupee to as less as hundreds of rupees. The reason for using the RFID module is that the programming of the module is very simple and can be easily implemented. All saying if we look at the concept of the project we find that extremely efficient and safe system is provided with the RFID module for the detection of person’s entry for security.
Our security system is designed on a sliding gate which is a model gate fabricated by us and uses a ball screw attached with a DC geared motor for opening and closing the gate. The gate is made out of 3.4 inch lamination MDF sheet which is cut to the size of one foot by two foot. There are ball rollers on either sides of the gate which are fixed on the top and bottom of the door. These ball rollers are then mounted on top of a RHS 10 x 20 mm frame which is sized at two foot by two foot. The frame has on its lower opposite ends two RHS pieces of the same size which make the frame stand vertically. At the back of the door we have fixed the ball screw with the DC geared motor for opening and closing the sliding panel.
The electronics of the system which involves the Arduino Uno the buck and the boost converter and also the RFID reader and the LCD along with the bleep is fixed on the front of the door panel. This is done so because we can get a clear view of the electronics involved in the system and we can also see the simplicity of the circuitry used in the making of this project. The power supply which is done by using 12 volt 7 amperes battery is fixes on the foot of the support for the frame of the system on which the door is mounted.
The significance of this project is immense and its practical uses can be seen in nearly every industry. It should also be known that the investment in this system is only initial and if this system is made stable quality wise then the product could last very long. The system can also be made to be water resistant if we want to install it out doors and have corrosion resistant qualities for that purpose. If we look at the time consumed in opening a door with a key or by RFID verification, we find that the door can be opened in less than a second by using it as compared to using a key.

The applications of the RFIOD can be much more than what it is today but the variations in frequencies which are applied to RFID are the reason for the slow down for further applications. Systems depending on other frequencies cannot detect the cards which are working on other frequencies and this can be a source of frustration for the users.
Due to the risk of security breach, theft or robbery the need for the development of such a system was necessary. The problems which arise with the breach of security issues might be critical and even involve loss of human lives. This makes the system more and more necessary in such applications. Another issue is that the system works on DC power which is supplied from batteries so for third world countries where power shortage issues are prevalent there can be a backup of battery power which can last a long time without AC supply from the national grid
