The common problem which a Mosque goer faces usually is the continuous changing of timings as different Mosques have different timings of prayers which keeps changing according to the day light timings. Common practice is getting to know the timings of a certain prayer at a particular Mosque is to get inside that Mosque and check its notice board which keep on updating manually by the Mosque administration. The solution which we will propose is that we are designing an app that will revolutionize the idea of getting to know the timings of any congregational prayer of any Mosque without physically stepping into the actual Mosque. Our app would use the live location feature on the phone and shows all the nearby Mosques (that are registered with our app) and the users just have to tap on the nearest Mosque icon and he can get to know the updated timings of all the congregational prayers. To broaden the scope of our app, we will also include a guide for the pilgrims who are visiting the holy cities of Makkah & Medina for the first time to perform Umrah. Millions of Muslims all around the globe offer pilgrimage in the holy cities of Makkah & Medina. This practice is continued round the year and all the first time goers are faced with one common problem of where to go and how to do all the rituals after reaching the holy city / Mosque. To overcome this issue, people comes in large gathering (read: Kafila) accompanying people who are experienced and know all the practices & rituals. The first timers follow them and get their pilgrimage done. This method is usually expensive and has its own limitations. Our application will provide the solution to all the first time goers to these holy places and they won’t need any physical guide to get their pilgrimage done properly. The app will be based on animated videos and will guide the user to be at a certain point to start a certain ritual (for example: Taavaf, Saee etc.). In this way the user can complete a certain task without any physical help. | | Project Objectives |
- We are designing an application that will revolutionize the idea of getting to know the timings of any congregational prayer of any Mosque without physically stepping into the actual Mosque.
- Our app would use the live location feature on the phone and shows all the nearby Mosques and user can get to know the updated timings of all the congregational prayers. Which is usually updating manually by the Mosque administration on the notice board.
- Also provide scholar lectures videos on different topics.
- To broaden the scope of our app, we will also include an animation video guidance for the pilgrims who are visiting the holy cities of Makkah & Medina for the first time to perform Umrah. In this way the user can complete a certain task without any physical help.

We will use android studio for application development. We will build an application for Mosque goers. Our application will provide a platform for users where they can perform multiple deeds in one place without any problem. Firstly we will collect data from local Mosques physically. By doing this the user will be able to view the congregational prayer timings that are locally saved in the database. The flow of our Application as follows: - User will enable the GPS option in our application then the system will be able to locate the nearby Mosques by using current location. Also users will see the congregational timing of that Mosque which are near around us.This feature would be accomplished by using Google map API.
- The second main feature of our application/system is to provide the animated guidance for performing Umrah. We will make a short main steps animated videos for performing Umrah. We would be make these animated videos by using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
