Project Summary

Sitting too long increases risk of chronic health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes and some cancers. Too much sitting can also be bad for your mental health as indoor environment is 10 times more polluted compared to outdoor air quality.

The main objective of this project is to design, demonstrate, and monitor the Bio wall for improving indoor air quality for confined crowded placed such (Hospitals, Offices, Airports, Gyms, Educational Institutes, Hotels & Restaurants, Shopping Malls, Praying Areas), also provide complete IoT Based solution to maintain temperature and monitor the indoor environment for all building occupant and visitors. Also, identify the best plants combination for bio wall to reduce indoor Volatile organic compounds (VOCs). VOCs include a variety of chemicals, some of which may have short- and long-term adverse health effects.

  1. To identify the best plants combination for bio wall to reduce toxicity.
  2. To develop an IoT based system to measure and monitor the air quality of confined spaces and generate alerts.
  3. To investigate the reduction in VOCs and toxicity after Biowall confined spaced.

  • Plant selection.
  • Construction of Bio wall as per room requirements and the number of users.
  • Installed IoT based sensors for operation and monitoring VOCs and smart irrigation systems.
  • Experimental study with and without Bio wall for comparison and data analysis.
  • Data Analysis and VOCs evaluation and improvement in Bio wall to enhance efficiency.
  • Final testing on improved Biowall.

  • Bio wall will provide bacteria free atmosphere naturally. 
  • Design Bio wall required low maintenance due to IoT based operation and monitoring system.
