RFID Based Warehouse Management system
Project Area of Specialization Computer ScienceProject Summary- In the present time warehouses are using those typical Barcode systems in Pakistan
And all the inventory is being managed manually which is a way slow and imperfect solution for the inventory in warehouses.
- Barcodes have to be implemented manually and there are a lot complications with them.
Our goal is made the warehouses management system way smarter and more efficient than old method by using RFID tags, scanners and desktop application for inventory. In this approach all the products, pallets and storage Bins will be tagged by RFID tags. Whenever the stock will enter the warehouse it will be automatically detected by the Scanners and will send all the stocks’ information to inventory application which will make stock management and tracking a lot easier in useful manners.
Project Objectives- No line of sight required in many use cases.
- The ability to hold 100 times more data than a barcode..
- Faster reading of multiple tags with one scan.
- Flexible tag positioning, perfect for reading every item on a pallet.
- Functionality inside and outside of the warehouse, even in harsh environments.
Use of IOT and Desktop application for inventory management.
We have different parts in our project
1-Desktop App:
All the information about the products and stock is stored in the RFID tags and is collected by the scanners and then that information is send to the inventory desktop application. There are some categories in the application like product details stock management, Bin management, Customers details, sales and purchases, which are managed through the application.
2-Hardware module:
We are using RFID tags applied to the all the management areas like products, pallets, Bins, shelves and the information is added to their memory. RFID scanners are placed from where the products will be added or moved; scanners will automatically detect the tags and send information to the inventory.
Benefits of the Project- Reduced Labor Costs.
- No Line-of-Sight Requirements.
- Improves Visibility.
- Contains more Information.
- Scans More Items, Faster.
- Less Susceptible to Damage.
- Prevents overstocking and under stocking.
