Project Objectives

Our idea of self-driving car is that user tell car, his destination and the computer in car request the our own satellite and send current location and destination, satellite will process that locations and get routes according to given locations by car, and get the shortest path with shortest path algorithm- A Start. And send route path back to the car. And then car will follow the given paths.

At each location when car passes, car will request satellite to communicate and send the time taken from one location to another. Satellite will update its database with new time taken by car. So that algorithm will improve the car experience and helps to detect the bottleneck or traffic on roads and locate car to different best possible routes available.

Project Implementation Method

We followed Agile scrum methodology to convert our idea to existing project.

First we needed prototype, prototype of having locations where our self driving is driving, we made our town model from MDF sheets around 11x6 feets.

Then we moved to our 2nd phase where we built our own satellite, which will direct our car to reach its destination.

Then we moved to built our 3rd delieverable, satellite camera through which we are extracting location from our town model through Computer Vision.

In 4th phase we start building our car model with raspberry pi. and make car to follow lanes.

Then we built algorithms to get locations from satellite to follow the roads to get reached its destination.

In last technical phase we enhanced our database. to make our database self learning. on each location when car moves from location to another location car will send time spent to get each location. and then database will update its data to provide updated best routes to car.

Benefits of the Project

Idea to reduce vehical accidents, and traffic rules violations,

relaxed journey for day to day routine.

Our machine can be used in warehouses, where it can be used to shift goods from one location to an other location automatically 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Project will contain one prototype of city, one self driving car computer vision enabled, one satellite with AI based A* Algorithm, and able to update current time  and one camera server who detect the change in town protoype to update the new locations
