Project Summary

District government of Rahim yar Khan has installed various water treatment plants i.e. RO Plants for providing clean and hazard-free water to its citizens. As many of these plants are installed in the remote areas therefore these RO plants are not well maintained and tend to become inoperative over the time. The main task of this project is to design a Reverse Osmosis Plant Management System (ROPMS) that will keep a check on quality and volume of water drawn from an RO plant.  Besides water quality parameters, it will gather power consumption data and report the parameters to a remote server using standard communication protocol (Ethernet/GSM). Another deliverable of this project is an Android application to provide user interface to monitor the daily/weekly/monthly statistics. Moreover, the ROPMS will notify the designated official in case of any suspicious activity.  The project will be tested in Real-time on a RO Plant situated in remote area dedicated for testing purposes by District Government of Rahim Yar khan.   

Project Objectives

As many of these plants are installed in the remote areas therefore these RO plants are not well maintained and tend to become inoperative over the time. The main task of this project is to design a Reverse Osmosis Plant Management System (ROPMS) that will keep a check on quality and volume of water drawn from an RO plant.

Project Implementation Method

An embedded+IoT based system will be developed which keep record of working of RO plant. System will find the flow rate, Volume and Quality of the water drawn from RO plant. An Embedded system with an android application interface will provide the every day working record of RO plant. Those area, which have no Internet access we use GSM Module that send record of the RO plant in text messages on mobile.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final deliverable of the project consist of device that consumed 5V (with esp32, GSM module and sensors) installed on the RO plant , collect the data and statistics and send wirelessly to the server and also send SMS.
