Web and mobile applications are making it easier for individuals to get many services at their hands on just a single click using their mobile and computer devices. However, an application which enables individuals to give and take daily use items for rent is a great contribution to the community. It will provide a way to people to save money from buying daily use items which will be of not much use to them in near future. With this, others will get money for giving items on rent. Previously, some applications have been developed to bring both lessee and lessor on single platform and all those applications are developed for a single purpose like for renting cars and houses. To the best of our knowledge no such mobile application has been deployed in Pakistan where daily use items could be rent out. The objective of our application is to help the people of organizations and institutions like Sukkur IBA University with financial instability as some will earn money by lending their idle items and others will save money taking those things on rent that are needed for short span of time. The application will help people to find and give items on rent and keep track of purchases to make a compatible environment for both the lessor and lessee.

Project Implementation Method

Proposed web and mobile application will be comprised of 3 tiers.

Presentation tier

Presentation tier is the interface which is used to collect the required information from user, show the details to user and pass it to the next tier which is business tier. The proposed web and mobile application woll be developed usingtools and techniques which we have learn is throughout the degree and others techniques at the hand at that time.

Logic tier

The business tier is where data is processed collected from presentation tier and that processing usually depend on the business logic, set of rules, and can depend on the already existing data in data tier. The programming languages that we will use for the data processing are java, JavaScript, and kotlin.

Data tier

The data tier, which is called back-end too is, where processed data is collected from business tier and stored and managed. That could be any relational database like MySQL, SQLite, and MongoDB.

Benefits of the Project

In the conclusion, we can summarize our project proposal as it encircles all the studies and requirements needed to create web and mobile applications for renting purpose in organizations and institutes. The benefits and its usage are expected to be overwhelming keeping in mind the novelty of the idea of such an application which will fulfill the needs of people by facilitating them and bring down the expenses.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

We will have a fully functional web and mobile application for renting daily use items for people in organizations/institutions. These application will enable individuals to share their stuff like books, clothes, and other material and get paid by the one who needs that item. Similarly, the one who is taking for rent will save the money from buying new items.

Application which we will develop and deploy in real time will not only fulfill purpose of connecting two persons for renting but it will provide users with different features for better experience. For making this renting application more applicable it will have following features.

• Recommendations: Users will be suggested for items based on their previous renting.
• Affordability: Users will enter their range and required item they want to get on rent and the application will show all available items in that mentioned range.
• Notifications: If an item is not available then user will post a request and that request will be send to others. When that item comes then the person which requested will be notified.
• Security: Terms and conditions will be defined and applied when a person is giving an item on renting and other getting an item. At the sign-up personal information will be taken which specially are his or her CNIC number, employ ID, phone number. At the time of giving and taking item lessor and lessee will verify their identity in case of preventing any fraud. But if any fraud occur owner will be able to track lessee through his or her personal information.
• Review on both sides: lessor and lessee will be reviewed; lessor will be reviewed on his or her behavior on giving the item which he posted, and lessee will be reviewed based on right usage of rented item and giving back the item in specified ti­me. In addition, this review will help other users on choosing the right person take and give item on renting.­­
