Privacy provision for TIP attributes in Location Based Services using NTTP
Now a days, technology is rapidly increasing even everyone sitting at home can visit far-off places and make friends whom they never meet in real life but virtually they are connected. Location Based Services are based on accessing geographical location of users by their handheld devices. Despite of providing a lot of benefits like finding location for tourism if we are unaware of the ways, playing online games with friends at different and remote locations and social networking etc. All these services require our personal information due to this, user’s privacy is affected. Privacy issue is that our personal information given to LBS is not completely secure still it can be attacked by adversaries. LBS uses two ways to provide privacy by using TTP (Trusted Third Party) and NTTP (Non-Trusted Third Party) where TTP means there is some third party like any node or server which is helping LBS to protect users. LBS using TTP fully rely on the third party but it’s not sure for a third party to always be trustworthy for the protection of personal information of the user. Due to these reasons NTTP is given full focus for preserving privacy which is beneficial because it does not completely involve a Third Party but involves as a minor part. LBS using NTTP are somehow independent of the third party because third party can be a major source of leaking user’s information if it’s not trusted. So the whole work is based on to provide privacy to user at their satisfactory level in location based services system by using NTTP.
The following objectives have been set out to accomplish the research’s goal:
For conducting simulation to get results for the validation of propose model OPNET Riverbed Modeler simulation tool is used to carry simulation for the model. This tool effectively evaluates the performance of proposed model before implementing in real environment with the help of simulation environment.
As we know today Location based services are widely being popularized for their vast usage in current technologies and everyone wants to get more services from anywhere and these services are based on searching out the area of interest which is likely to be accessed by the users. but the major requirement of users is that their personal or sensitive information cannot be attacked or used by any unauthorized person. For this reason protection of user's three attributes which are user identity, temporal information and spatial information is necessary. And our proposed solution by using Non Trusted Third Party gives better results than existing solutions related to the user's privacy needs.
Our work is based on the "Research and Development".
Our final deliverable includes research papers and implementation results that ensures the betterment of the proposed model than previous approaches.
