PLC and SCADA based intelligent Load Shedding Management
Development of a load shedding management control system using PLC (PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER) and SCADA (SUPERVISORY CONTROL AND DATA ACQUISITION) is the title of this project. This project is divided into three parts which are hardware, software and interfacing the circuit designed with SCADA. The hardware part for this project is a prototype circuit consisting of the relays to control the different loads. Different loads are connected to indicate the switching of lines. These loads are connected to the PLC. The software part operates with PLC, the PLC is programmed to Control the load shedding. PLC receives the control signals from the SCADA application designed which is also monitor through communication network.
The manual load-shedding is always tedious, slow and does not accurate, so this equipment provide accurate, fast, and automated load shedding. If the power generation is less than the consumption, then it automatically shut down one of the load. When the generated power is increased in the power station, so it automatically switches on the load which was previously shut down. In case if the generated power is higher than the consumption, so the system sent the message to the power station to decrease the power generation.
The equipment is aimed to do these things which are given below,

The proposed system is designed to address all these problems efficiently and avoids manual intervention in generating electricity and to automate the power cut off and power connection to the us.
1. The equipment provides the automated switching of power in loads according to priority set in it.
2. The equipment can be controlled by far away computers through communication network.
3. It will trip the circuits efficiently in microseconds without giving any damage to the Power System.
4. It will inform the Power station to increase or decrease the Power Generation according to loads.
